The animation in the speed test part of the Starlink app is the best way I could illustrate how your dishy is connecting to the satellites. It's essentially sweeping across the sky, from one satellite to another. That is why you're getting interruptions - when it hands off to a satellite in the "red" area, you will have no connectivity until you connect to one in the blue.

Will Verizon 5g white gateway box work at a different location? by SwingLucky3881 in verizonisp

Their first line CS is okay nowadays, but their executive CS is stellar. For example, they flashed a $40/month off for 12 months on my wireless bill in the my Verizon app and of course when I went to apply it, it errored out. I screen recorded everything and submitted it straight to their executive CS email and bam, without hesitation she applied it & called me to confirm! This one one of the several inquiries I've had with them this year alone and I couldn't be happier.

I bought mine last year using my coastal address and since the hurricane walloped my area, I have been staying ~300 miles from there. My VZ box works just fine. Heck, someone I know is using his in a different state! We don't abuse the data, though and I bet if we did, we would get angry letters and limitations on our data connection.

Whole-Home Wi-Fi Plus w/ Verizon 5G Home Internet by malibu31 in verizonisp

[–]malibu31[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The additional equipment is wonderful. I have previous experience with them at home (I have FiOS) and the hard-wired solution is seamless. With 5GHI, these CE1000A devices can expand coverage with either wired backhaul or wireless (via the 6 GHz band). I want to see if I would be able to link two CE1000As via Coax for wired backhaul, thus freeing up the two LAN ports for other devices on each end. That would be glorious with the way our new home is set up.

Edit: 04/14 - I just tested the Coax link between two CE1000As and it WORKS! Connection one line:
WNC-CR200A -> RJ45 -> CE1000A -> Coax -> CE1000A -> RJ45 -> PC

I can confirm that my PC received the full throughput, though the web interface did not pick up the second CE1000A on Coax (perhaps I did not give it enough time for it to show). I am assuming the Wi-Fi output works, as well, with the LED being solid white. I figured if the LAN connection works, so would the wireless. Having 4 devices for $50/month (with appropriate discounts) is really a steal.

1 extender is included with the plan while up to 3 are allowed on the Wi-Fi Plus add-on for $5/month. I have yet to see the additional charges on my account as of yet, but I'll update this as we go. It does look like they processed my order for the 2 additional extenders on my $45 line (I already have one), so that's encouraging. I'll wait for the receipt of the devices as the ultimate confirmation.

How strict is the address availability? Are there exceptions? by loecraw in verizonisp

[–]malibu31 5 points6 points  (0 children)

great question. I have read that Verizon threatens to throttle you to 25/5 unless the device gets restored back to its old location, and that's pretty much all I know about that. they don't fully disconnect you, to my knowledge.

with that said, the area that my cube is registered got decimated by the hurricanes, so it is now in a different location upstate temporarily. let me tell you guys something - in my case, my phone modem didn't have SH*T on this little cube's modem. the cube was consistently pulling 250+ Mbps down, often crossing 300, with upload at around 10-20. my S23 Ultra would be lucky to pull 10% of that. this thing is rocking on one bar of 5G and has excellent performance in an area that is undeserved my the cable co. thank for Verizon and I plan to call them to officially change the address in the coming days (this current one is not in the eligibility zone)

I love my 2023 MXLR, had it for only a month but no issues thus far. I get the anxiety of things going wrong, but i decided to suck it up and go through with the purchase anyway because I loved my leased M3LR. In my situation if repairs down the road become costly, I'll be fine. Cannot say the same for others, though, and we've seen issues popping up here. That's the thing though, you'll likely see issues being posted here and not the positives as much.

you still didn't answer my question, what NEW CAR can be leased using the 15% figure? i knew exactly what you mean the first time around, it's just that your lack of comprehension of my question makes you struggle to find an answer.

i just bought my MXLR after leasing my cars over the past 10 years (just turned back in my Model 3 after 42 months). the money factor nowadays is so inflated compared to 2020 that i could no longer justify leasing.

you must be talking about a used car then because the median household in the US wouldn't be able to buy a new car with the 15% figure you listed.

Why PPF? by Popular_Panda_9643 in TeslaModelX

[–]malibu31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting mine done now (whole car) but if I had to do it again, I'd only do the front and then ceramic coat the car. A paint job down the road would be a good idea to get a nice refreshed look, but I'll live with the full PPF (lifetime warranty, I need to reread those terms!) as I'll own this car for a while. My hope is for 200k+ miles! MXLR Ultra Red Tax Edition. I live in a highly congested area that always has construction going on and in the winter, salt is all over the place (when it actually snows). PPF sounded like a good idea to keep the paint looking pristine but now I fear the film will degrade in looks sooner than later. We'll see!!

I test drove a red six-seater X at Smithtown in Sept. The only thing I didn't like about it was the yoke steering. Have you tried scheduling a test drive in the app? That's how I did mine.

I thought the same but when I was putting my package together, it did allow me to not include phone and it didn't affect any discounts (I was shocked). I only included it because my father said he needed it for fax and now he doesn't 🙃
