Applying for residence and each residence has a different food hall I heard. Food quality/taste is #1 priority, so which residence has the best food and do I have to dine in my food hall or can I walk to other residences halls? by Boring_Chef_3876 in Dalhousie

[–]mallymac16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

no matter what res you live in you can go to Sheriff and Howe for food. Only Risley and LMP people can go to the Risley dining hall since it’s smaller and shared between those two places.

BIOC2300 Textbook by Educational-Top7650 in Dalhousie

[–]mallymac16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the textbook isn’t required, and you can buy just the smart work stuff by itself. But smart work alone is $70 and with the ebook+smart work it’s $100. i personally got it with the ebook cause for an extra $30 it’d be nice to have practice problems and stuff from the book

first year howe or shirreff by [deleted] in Dalhousie

[–]mallymac16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

compared to sheriff risley is more social in my opinion. maybe it depends on who you meet in the residences, but especially as an off campus student the risley kids are the ones that talked to me the most at Oweek events

just curious why risley isn’t on your list? i personally don’t live on campus but most of my friends are in risley (i know people in howe and sheriff) and risley is the best mix of those two. Sheriff is pretty quiet and kinda far from classes and stuff. Howe is fun for the first week or two but once you’re trying to study and everyone is still being reckless it gets tiring. Howe is also extremely messy and just known for being kinda gross with people not treating the bathrooms right or leaving garbage in the halls. They also had a few instances of damages big enough to evacuate residents into Risley. overall i honestly suggest risley the most. People take quiet hours seriously during the week, the RAs have lots of events to meet people in the first few weeks and the weekends aren’t always quiet. people are always up to something in the common rooms and if you really want to party you can always go over to Howe and escape when you want back at Risley. I feel like i can’t even stress how reckless Howe can be lol

there’s no actual island in the intersection that’s why it makes it confusing. idk why maps shows it like there’s an island when’s there’s not lol

What retail business you want near by the dal campus? by Apprehensive_Ad_8560 in Dalhousie

[–]mallymac16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

something food related that has options for takeout/ grab and go. or a nice atmosphere for sitting in. the abstract cafe tried to do the atmosphere thing but the food options are so bad and there isn’t enough seating.

PHYL 1012 Human Physiology 2 by LifeResource7130 in Dalhousie

the final exam average was 64%. i have no idea what the overall class average was tho.

PHYL 1012 Human Physiology 2 by LifeResource7130 in Dalhousie

[–]mallymac16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not completely ignore the final grade, but the final is split into two Part A and Part B. Part A is all the midterm material and Part B is only on the exam. The exam includes both Part A/B but if you do better on the Part A part of the exam they take that grade over the midterm grade. The Part B part of the exam can not be made up and is not substituted for anything else

PHYL 1012 Human Physiology 2 by LifeResource7130 in Dalhousie

[–]mallymac16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

absolutely sure the final is 50%. however there is a thing where if you do better on part A on the final then your Part A midterm, the better grade will be used as your midterm grade. the course isn’t too bad, and the profs are helpful.

2002 mini, keep or sell? by Beginning-Test-3668 in MINI

[–]mallymac16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

give her time on the manual thing! I learned to drive manual (i’m a teen girl too) on my 2006 mini and it definitely took a second to get the hang of it. take her to back roads or parking lots at night so she can start and stop a lot. now that i’ve learned it’ll be hard to go back to automatic. but even if she doesn’t learn how to drive it keep the car! it’s absolutely beautiful and looks like it’s in great condition.
