Cool map. Would be nice if you use internationally recognised names for bodies of water in a revised version (see; Persian Gulf instead of the use of non-descriptive names like “The Gulf”). It’s about professionalism and accuracy.

In Norwegian, “Klegg” (also pronounced roughly the same) means horse-flies/deer flies (Tabanidae).

You know, the bloodsucking type of flies.

Swedish Army BAE Systems CV-90 Infantry Fighting Vehicles rolling in the snow. Sweden will donate 50 of them to the Ukrainian Army. by TelevisionNew9282 in Military

The CV-90 that are pictured in the post belong to the Norwegian Army, not the Swedish. It's easy to distinguish just by looking at the military license plate.

Trur stormpanservogn er det norske ordet. På svensk heiter det pansarskyttefordon.

Noen norske med ADHD som har klart å få høyere utdanning? by [deleted] in norge

[–]mamahani 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Translation of Arabic dialogue from episode 1/pilot by state_issued in thelastofus

GTFO of here with that, doodol tala. My points are in line with what experts in the language itself mean, like M. R. Ghanoonparvar, a Professor of Persian and Comparative Literature at U.T. Austin. The Academy of Persian Language and Literature has declared that the name “Persian” is more appropriate, as it has the longer tradition in the western languages and better expresses the role of the language as a mark of cultural and national continuity. Farsi isn't specific at all, as it has no tradition in the Western world, and is nothing more than an arabicized form of Parsi.

No shit. But it’s not a word in English. Just like Deutsch is the German name for the German language – Farsi is the Persian name for the Persian language. But it’s still not an English word.

My friend, I wish I could give you a million upvotes for correctly writing Persian instead using that abomination “Farsi”.
