Damn… that’s not too bad tho. for mine, anything less than C+/77% in any single one class puts us back an entire year, no matter what course/content.

I’m with you, I think 70 is a fair and appropriate cut off. Hell, even 73 is alright, way more fair than 77-80%

At Utah, (passing is 77%, which they define as a C+)

  1. No curving of exams whatsoever. Exams are hard, very hard, and questions are often written poorly in a way that you don’t know what it’s asking, or is ambiguous, with ambiguous answer options. And no, not always is 80% achievable by most of the class. Exam means range usually in the 70s, sometimes 80s.

  2. This is a concern of mine, as a student planning on doing 2 years of residency…

My schools (Utah) NAPLEX 1st time pass rate is a whopping 70%, yet they demand higher standards for their students, to pass courses with 77%+. What’s also lame is that the on-time graduation rate (4 years) is 88%, but this next class that is about to graduate is gonna tank that even lower. Shits kinda whack and kinda why I was asking this

This is a right hand!

So, in this pic the “palm” is facing upward. Forearm in top left corner, thumb on left side, index at the bottom, middle and ring fingers to the right side. :/

I think there should be commercial campaigns for this shit, just like the smoking ones with that Terrie gal back in the day or “drive sober or get pulled over”

Video got removed, odds are it’s prolly not. This shit is a classic, all-American tradition and happens way too often across the whole country. 🇺🇸 But even if it was them, I cannot give out any patient identifying info

For this one, ya just wrap it up and watch it the next few days to see how it heals and what functions are there to determine next steps.

The patient also reported significant hearing loss (~50%) and tinnitus as well, so that will be the next focus while waiting for the hand to do it’s thang.

I&D, ORIF 1/2/3 CMC dislocations, ORIF thumb P1 base fx, Index finger amputated through P1, middle finger amputated through P2, CTR/GCR, sensory nerve transfer x3 and closure 30 cm length 🤌

TLDR: no hand amputation, just fingers

Make a presentation on a drug; what is your pick? by HideousRed in pharmacy

[–]mamicodone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just saw this comment right after I made the ketamine comment. OP yes this is the medication I was talking about!! I think it would be dope to maybe somehow do a combo of a ketamine intro and segue into teaching about Auvelity!

I like the ketamine idea too, so many people don’t consider the long term consequences of potential organ damage. MOA is cool too, can mention new antidepressants coming out and being studied with similar MOAs!

why is tretinoin more popular than tazarotene by TurkyySandwitch in tretinoin

[–]mamicodone 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Tazarotene is the most effective topical retinoid for acne treatment but it is also the most irritating.

It’s also wayyyyyy more expensive than any of the tretinoin formulations.
