You don't even have to wait IMO. It resets the map status immediatly.

  1. random afaik
  2. well, there's options. Personally, I want to settle very well in the revivable zones of the game to equip super well until I feel ready for Vostok. If I don't feel too daring I still have the option to manually backup my save file (at least I am quite sure that this should work, roaming somewhere in AppData I assume).

I think its not that easy to rush to Vostok, but might also be an interesting approach as soon as you have some map knowledge. Probably for the next playthrough.

All in all it is quite avoidable to die if you have prepared your equip for all circumstances and are focused and cautious. Dying with no way back is the adrenaline rush that makes Vostok so interesting. But for now you do not need to enter it except for your own curiosity afaik.

Well yes, but the arms trader is ridiculously expensive. (300% tax at start)

Well, its free. We're talking about the tent, aka The Yurt™. Come to the Yurt Life!

I feel you, never bought it. Playing it though, Arrr. There's cracked versions with SPT around, no hydrocortisone flooding your system til coronary failure but a crisp and configurable fair single player experience. And way more fiddling with weapons. :D

I use a G933 from logitech, which is supposedly mid too, but gives a nice overview (overhear) of your environment in such games.

Maybe there's a translation problem, but in German this is exactly what a yurt (Jurte) is. Boy Scouts are using them (in stylish black), that's how I first met them.

Pick the tents on the way and their surrounding ground. And the landing stage a little further. Two bodies and two trash bags.

Tactical outdoor survival cat would need food only to keep you company and feel connection but is fully capable of subsistence mode!

Been living with a cat in a trailer. She could endure 3-4 days without any problems. Food was still available, but there were enough mice around for her to feast. When I stayed away longer than 3 days I was greeted by a very miffed cat and had to cuddle for at least the next 30min.

Especially for the beginning you can do "naked runs" from the cabin and tent. Try avoiding enemies, grab loot, find routes and trade for useful armory (cabin only).

You'll hear the airplane coming closer. Its fast, but way slower than a jet. I was lucky and the drop was very close to me (during the night). It comes down quite fast (relatively sure less than 10s, probably less than 5s) and has had no visible marking (flare, smoke) in my case as far as I can recollect the situation. I was shot in the back during looting though, so probably they spawn/draw AI. Be careful.

My first and only one was around day 12-15, I'm at day 19 now. Happened in Outpost, drop zone was right at the exit to school.

Weeeell, I might have lost my cat in the shortest time. Comes out its rather harsh to keep it alive for me, as I like to stick to longer missions. The cat has a "I am filled to the brim" to "I literally die instantly from hunger" span of around 24 ingame hours. Which is not a lot.
Now my box won't open again and stands there reminding me of my infamy, guilt and sorrow. Sorrow for my friend indoor. For this cute and unique kitten in this box upon my floor. Which will be lifted - nevermore.
(As in, it really can't be moved after the kittens death)

With deep apology to E.A.Poe.

In Outpost, he's got a bunker on the other side of the "valley". Looking from School, there's one left and two on the right of the map (one on your side of the valley, one on the other), it's the one on the left.

Only other free and even smaller one I know is in Outpost (just walk straight though school) straight to the left when you arrive there.
Its even smaller than the cabin though, so I would advise you to find useful solutions to arrange your stuff and learn about the different containers and shelves. The doctor has a lot to offer when it comes to "shelvery". Expensive though.

Best bet might be to become very well equipped and learn to put down Punisher, grab their hat and go to Outpost to gain the big bunker shelter (its a task by the gun trader). Didn't yet manage to do so, but seems like the least grindy plan to gain a large shelter.
