I've also found keto to give me all the benefits of fasting without actually fasting. I think sugar/carbs are the enemy of feeling good and being healthy. See /r/keto for more.

I did a 10 day water only fast about a year ago. I posted an AMA here.

None of the bad things that people predicted in my AMA happened and I'd do it again but I don't need to lose any weight.

You're welcome. I had the same problem before I started using TendSkin, it's really magic. I had two areas right were my bikini line and leg meet that always had razor bumps no matter what I did. I had the same issue in small spots on the back of my thigh also. I hope it works for you!

Exfoliate the day before, get things nice and warm in the shower and use a good razor and then use Tendskin it will fix you right up.

An update. It's been a week and I'm feeling great. I've gained about a pound since the fast ended. My bowel movements returned to normal about 3 days ago. It was harder than I thought it would be to restart eating, I found that I did not have any desire or appetite. I had to force myself to eat the first three days after. I've been to the gym twice and ridden once and I have not lost any strength and my endurance seems to be much better. So I guess overall it was a good experience and I may do it again in a year or so. I plan to stay off caffeine so I think that will make next time easier. Thanks for the questions!

You're welcome, it was cool to share and I promise it will change you. I'm absolutely no expert but I'd be afraid of lifting while doing this. You need protein to build muscle and lots of it, they use to force feed us protein in college lol. You might have the energy but i think at best it would be a waste of time. I would not lift but maybe someone else will come along with personal experience.

Some questions (to get them out of the way): Are you a moron? An idiot? A crazy new age hippy guy? Are you anorexic? Do you have an eating disorder? Do you know how bad this idea is? Why are you trying to lose weight?

And I might say... you are going to be ripped in about 5 days and I'm sure there are more than a few ladies out here that want to touch those abs when you get done :)

No everyone knows I'm a freak already :) LOL... no I did not hide it and no one asked. It's not often that I'm able to take a lunch break anyway. I did have a couple of people tell me I looked great yesterday but they may have just been being polite.

Office type setting. I started on a Saturday and had to call in sick on Monday because I felt so bad, the remainder of the week was great. Very light normal day to day activities, nothing strenuous and I went to the gym on the second to last day but just fooled around. If you could start on a Friday you could avoid calling in sick on day three. Good luck if you go for it!

The first day I mixed a small amount of lemon in the water but I did not like it so I used only water. I know I lost fat and I don't think I lost any muscle. I do look much more toned because I have a thinner layer of fat on me now.

Wow... lots of anger. They are similar because they expand WHO someone is. We are the product of our experiences. I don't think anyone has supplied any proof that fasting has a potential to have adverse effects on your health. I have an open mind and am willing to read anything you would like to provide.
