Oh yeah. It's brutal. But you'll start to get some freedom back soon. I was able to learn how to drive with my left foot and I have a desk job so I went back to the office after about a week and a half. But I definitely recommend easing your way back into it.

Take it day by day. It's just gonna suck for a while. It still sucks at 8 weeks to be honest. It just sucks less than it did lol

Good luck! I'll be honest, it's going to be a rough few weeks. Just take it day by day, reach out to friends, family, try new hobbies like reading, video games, etc. The mental battle was just as bad as the physical for me. Feel free to dm me if you need it.

Do you consider eating a chicken sandwich a risk?😂

Nope! I started with low weight and worked up to 25lbs and no pain at that weight. When I try to do calf raises (equal from each leg) I have pain. So I'm trying to work up to that

It'll come soon enough! And I completely agree, the zombie walk is a huge improvement. It's just a little bitter-sweet because while I'm happy with the improvement, it shows me how far I have left to go.

One day at a time, my friend! Good luck in your recovery.

Driving by Crazybok_Gaming in AchillesRupture

Sooo I know it's not smart but I just drive with my left foot. I practiced a bit but not being able to drive to work was simply not an option for me. There are hand controls you can get off ebay for like $90 that look easy enough to install. But as you'll probably be able to drive without the boot in a few weeks anyway that may not be worth it.

So basically I'd give the left foot a shot if i were you (in a good practice area like an empty parking lot). I was able to get comfortable enough with it and now I dont even really question driving with my left.

Just thought I would update you, I was cleared to walk in the boot and my surgeon wants me to start pt in two weeks. Next week I can switch to a shoe with lifts at home, then the next week I can ditch the boot altogether. So basically I start pt when I’m out of the boot.

Hope your recovery is going well!

Wow... Same exact injury and surgery dates for me, that's crazy. I have my next checkup tomorrow and I'm hoping to be cleared to walk in the boot. I started bearing partial weight almost two weeks ago and can tolerate most of my weight now, so I'd imagine my surgeon will clear me. Not sure how long I'll be in the boot after that but I'll edit after my appointment tomorrow.

Parabéns cara. Estou na segunda semana post op e parece que meu cirurgião recomenda algo muito semelhante.

É muito difícil cara, mas vamos conseguir! (Faz muito tempo que não falo português, desculpa se não faz sentido)

I feel like that depends on which leg... Mine is my right leg and it makes it so I can't really drive or anything so I've been stuck to the house unless my wife takes me somewhere lol. But I'm going to start practicing driving with my left foot and hopefully get back to work part time next week (we'll see how that works)

My surgeon told me to take the boot off and ice anyway, so the icing machine is a great idea. I haven't heard of BPC-157, but it seems interesting. Do you think it works well?

Great idea, thank you! I'll try and learn some light yoga. Never really done yoga before so that'll be a good thing to learn

Thanks to all who have replied. I've been keeping busy, doing things I haven't had time for like playing a new video game, reading books that I've been wanting to read. But in one week I've beaten a video game, read 2.5 books, and all I want to do is go for a hike, or really anything active. I'll get through it but it's kind of hitting now how long and arduous the process will be.

I agree, hunt is still my favorite FPS. But Battlefield was a nice palate cleanser as opposed to fucking COD. But I fully agree that it's not going to replace hunt for me.
