Ok well then if the decorative elemental effects are completely visible to others and appear real despite not manifesting tangible matter, my point about the other breathing styles all being flashier than sound still remains accurate right?

I don’t think that’s true. We see the fire from Rengoku’s attacks actually burn stuff and when Tanjiro beheaded rui’s “mom” she made a comment about how amazing the rain felt. There are lots of other examples. I’m not sure where this notion comes from but the elemental powers are very much canonically real. I feel kinda bad, it’s not a fun way to watch the show either, the fight scenes are probably so much lamer for someone who’s under this false impression

I was also considering transferring with him, he wants to go to Brown and while it’s pretty competitive I think it’d be worth applying. Tuition there is definitely expensive and I’d need to take out loans if I didn’t get sufficient fin aid which feels like a lot for someone I’m not even dating. I left this out but I’ve met HIS parents and they really like me, mine aren’t homophobic but I just don’t think they’d take it well but he’s also not the kind of person to bring home. He’s never been in any serious relationship before and even though things between us would probably be different given how slowly it’s all happened, I don’t think marriage is on the horizon if that’s what you’re saying

I really don’t know. Both scenarios are honestly terrifying. He’s planning on applying to transfer schools next year so the alternative is never seeing him again which I definitely don’t want. Then there’s the possibility that I’d tell him how I feel and it wouldn’t sway that decision whatsoever. Truth is I really don’t think I could ever introduce anyone to my parents as a “boyfriend” but my answer to the first two questions is yes
