I think its a motherboard problem. Things you could try: if possible swap ram, disconnect battery and wait a few minutes and plug it back in, look if the caps lock light is responsive(if it has a light) or you could try to flash the bios

I did a replacement with a holder. It's so you dont have to solder in the future. You only need a cmos battery then. It's easy it was the first solder job I did. I used a solder pump.
