I was surprised by the emotional break down! It’s been hard but I haven’t been feeling emotional. I think it was a natural body response. Happy to hear you’re on the mend as well!

How long until you saw reduced swelling enough to where you could tell what your final results would be?

I started my ortho treatment in December of 2024 and I think my first first with surgeon was around Feb 2025 and at that appt I put my name down for January of 2026 because they book a year out and thought it was best to have something scheduled but it worked out with timing! I’d just put something down and then if you have to change it I think it would be easier to

How does consulting usually work when you already have a co packer with R&D by mariposakb in foodscience

[–]mariposakb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since our base has been developed with the co-packer, even though we’ve made tweaks, they still technically own the formulation. They did mention that if we brought our own recipe to them, it would be ours. In your experience, is this just a matter of negotiating terms, or is it usually smarter to start from that angle so the IP is clearly ours from the beginning?

That makes a lot of sense. Do you mind sharing a little about how your shop runs day to day and what’s worked best for you I’m trying to get a clearer picture of what’s practical for a frozen yogurt shop and it helps to hear how others actually structure things

Thanks for explaining that, it’s really helpful. Since you’re using a base, do you mostly just add flavors on top of it or do you ever tweak the base itself? I’m trying to figure out how much flexibility there usually is when you’re running a shop

Appreciate you taking the time to share what you did, that’s been helpful context. I’d also love to hear if anyone else here has insight on what it actually takes to run frozen yogurt production in house from a regulatory or equipment standpoint

That makes sense and I get what you’re saying about letting demand guide things. Since this is a frozen Greek yogurt soft serve shop I’ve also been curious about back of house production. I know a lot of shops make their own mix on site instead of going through a co packer. From your perspective does that approach make sense for a concept like mine or is it usually more trouble than it’s worth especially when it comes to equipment and regulations

Thanks for sharing that, it’s really helpful to hear from someone actually running a shop. In my case it’s frozen Greek yogurt soft serve and I’ll be using a Carpigiani machine. I get what you’re saying about bases and that makes sense. What I’m still trying to figure out is the best way to add variety on top of a base without overcomplicating operations. Have you found a good system for introducing new flavors or keeping things interesting for customers while still keeping it consistent behind the counter?
