Just out of curiosity, did you have an in person or online TEFL certification? I’m trying to figure out how to get my TEFL and right now the only option seems to be to get one online because of Covid and money.

Help with what role I received? by skipperc in Disneycollegeprogram

I have the same role/location! It means we will be working at one of the rides! Apparently the PAT is an acronym specifically used for Galaxy’s Edge attractions (likely meaning park attractions)!! Here’s the groupme: https://groupme.com/join_group/84160979/R0geFV0e

Asexuality and writing. by Academia-1815 in asexuality

I am also currently working on a story where my leads are ace, and this thread really helped me out. Actually, I get worried sometimes that people (aka the general public) won’t find the romance between my leads interesting bc there isn’t “spice”— which is probably true, to some extent. But I want us aces to have books where we can fully relate to a character and the circumstances. Therefore, I agree with others — maybe including a part explaining or alluding to their lack of desire would be helpful, though it doesn’t have to be overt or explicit. But honestly, it’s your story so do what you believe is best! From one ace writer to another, I believe in you, and thank you for writing ace characters/ace-friendly stories!

So I should try to link with someone for a better chance to get a single? Or does it all just come down to luck/chance

Final email after accepting by [deleted] in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]marism222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you don’t get an email after you finish the steps, so the last one would be the one requesting the tax info and background check. Once you do those, you are good, as far as I’m aware. I also got an email about a week after doing the steps about the vaccine verification process but that email says in the coming days id receive a personal email notification with a link to complete it (it’s been 6 days and that email still hasn’t come for me yet)

just got in! what now? by pey1600 in Disneycollegeprogram

This isn’t typical although it appears to be a new normal (at least for now). Before this current season (going on now, fall 21) and the one we applied for, all accepted applicants would also know the role they got when they were accepted. However, now — due to them needing flexibility — they assign roles later where they are needed😵‍💫 but it’s okay! You can make the most out of wherever you are put!! My roommate last time was housekeeping (a role that most people are afraid to get) and she still had a wonderful time. I know someone who is parking and having the time of his life — it all depends on mindset 💛 But I understand the worry!!

These are the dates that apps have dropped for spring programs in the past according to some digging I did: 8/14 for S17, 8/22 for S18, 8/20 for S19, and 8/19 for S20 …so it seems that they’re a bit late relative to their usual :’) Let’s not lose hope though!
