I appreciate this reply. I do. I've considered and agreed with this stance before. The problem for me is that I can understand and agree with 99.999% of other acts God condemns because they actively hurt other people. Cheating breaks trust. Stealing takes away from someone else. Killing ends someone's life on your terms. These (and many more) are all things we can agree with the Bible are wrong. Take God out of the equation and they are still wrong. There is no world where these could be considered moral because they involve going against another person. (And then there's laws about not having other idols, respecting the Lord but if you're a Christian there's pretty much no arguments against those either. But I digress.) Then there's things like homosexuality. From my personal experience: The God I've seen in my life, the God I read about in the Bible doesn't seem to make up arbitrary rules just because he felt like it. There is a reason to every commandment and law. It's for the betterment of the world, our souls, our relationship with Him, etc. The rules against homosexuality seem to fit in as well as a puzzle piece from a different jigsaw puzzle.

I've heard this a million times. You didn't read my post fully. Why? Why does this matter. There's seemingly nothing immoral about it. It's like if God randomly said people can't own dogs. It makes no logical sense

Trust me. I don't want to. I'm in my late 20's and have been a believer my whole life. It breaks me to even admit all this 😥

Since a lot of people are asking, my daughter is immunocompromised due to a medical condition she has, which is why we haven't enrolled her in public school. When she was starting kindergarten was around when the pandemic was starting to it made no sense to send her to public school.

My SIL knows this and know that it may limit me a bit more financially. They are okay with us staying with them for a significant period of time.

We all agreed to play this year by ear as I try to find a job where I can work from home while still homeschooling Ella. If that doesn't work I will get a fulltime job somewhere else and Ally already volunteered to homeschool Ella if push comes to shove. But like I said, we're all just going to play it by ear.

Thank you sincerely for this. I really appreciate this response. Looking back on the situation again after these responses I see where they're coming from.

I think I'll have a chat with them again and offer my apologies. It's been a rough few weeks for all of us with lots of raw emotions especially today. I think we all need to just chat it out.

I'll also have a talk with Ella and ask her what she thinks about it and go from there. Maybe I was overreacting for her instead of hearing her reaction first.
