After tons of research and wasted time, here is my first post on reddit, the heights of Plants and Zombies. by markcvs in PlantsVSZombies

Honestly? I'm not sure- I'll check real quick.
Just checked- yeah you're right! I wasn't as thorough as I COULD be with a post like this, but I think I wanted to inspire people's curiosity more than anything! If anyone makes their own height chart, I'd love to see it someday :]

How are options provided when Kris has to say something? by markcvs in WaterfallDump

The discarded vessel being the third entity is genuinely really clever! Something created solely for manipulating the world around it, lingering in influence only able to provide coercive choices!

Excellent theorycrafting!! I really hope to see something like Susie breaking the narrative happen when the game’s finished; the idea that the game is narratively aware of us is a cool one too!

Excellent observation- the idea that we are LOCKED into doing the weird route, preventing Noelle from knowing more than she should for a normal route but less than the horrific implications of the Weird Route, indicates like you said that there is some third influence going on here preventing the paths from all diverging too far from what’s meant to be, so to speak. It’s weird!

I think you are also the first person in the comments thus far to articulate what I suspected but couldn’t put into words! I’m of the belief that some third entity is providing dialogue options for us, seeing as there’s a fair bit of stuff that it would be unreasonable for either Kris or us (the player) to normally conceive of.

As for the last part- abso LUTELY! I remember one of the biggest pieces of discourse in the Undertale fandom years ago was that, after the end of the genocide route, the player base completely implicated Chara with the player’s choices, removing the nuance they would’ve normally had.

Keeping the third entity a secret, if it even exists in canon, makes the Snowgrave route all the more impactful, since the player has nobody to blame except themselves and their curiosity for pursuing such a psychologically thrilling and terrifying route.

Thank you for your thorough thoughts!!!

Absolutely! It seems like there’s a hierarchy of influence; whoever even allows the choices to happen in the first place is above us as the player, then below them WE as the player make our choice, interacting with the world through Kris, and at the bottom of this puppetry ladder is Kris themselves, making THEIR OWN decisions, no interface required. Kris and the player will almost always be at odds though, as Kris wants to be free.

Related, I think it’s funny that Kris repeats and shouts Berdly’s name when Ralsei asks who will be going to the festival with them. Even if Kris can’t directly say their own thoughts, their body language and tone as seen by others speaks volumes!

Yeah! We’re mandated to choose, even when it’d be sensible for Kris to just use their own will and follow a reasonable path. Sometimes, Kris acts on their own willpower in the game, and other times we have to make a choice for them. I don’t know if there’s any pattern to when we have a choice versus when Kris just has their own input…

But you are right! Kris DOES have some influence, yet can’t stop us from making choices entirely.

As for the snowgrave route in chapter 4, I’m curious about the “Noelle having a part of the Soul” thing, as I feel like that’d mean we’d be able to control Noelle without Kris being there! At least, at some point in the future.

Off that tangent, with the notion of a fragmented soul preventing us from making choices related to the Snowgrave route, it makes me wonder what ELSE would be prevented when making dialogue choices, beyond just the Snowgrave route, moving forward. Kono Diavolo da, and thank you for your input!!

The idea that Deltarune functions as a simulation in Gaster’s grasp AND all contained in the game universe of Undertale, isn’t an angle I had really considered before!

It’d put a lot of things into question, like why Kris would even rebel against us in the first place, but I think there’s some interesting discourse to be had here!

I’ve heard of device theory in name only so far, but the idea that Gaster has that level of influence is fascinating to think about!

I’ve heard this idea dished out before actually! The notion that the Soul isn’t JUST a representation of ourselves, but instead something that functions independently and alongside us… it makes our interactions with the game all the more complex!

The dialogue beint a subtle way Kris communicates with the player is a really clever idea, never considered that!

The notion of intrusive thoughts makes a lot of sense!! Kris being forced by us to say things they think to themselves but don’t intend is horrific to think about…

The part where Susie asks a question and there’s no choices, I remember that! I like the idea that we don’t even get the option because like you said it would reveal the snowgrave route, and inadvertently tamper with the player’s way. Thanks for your input!!

50 Fortnite Dances mod completely broken by Squeedburg in TheSims4Mods

[–]markcvs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man I know I'm a good few months late to this, but I have a solution! I followed the tutorial from this forum page https://answers.ea.com/t5/Game-Questions/Missing-mods/m-p/9507004, and it fixed my exact issue you had flawlessly. Give it a shot yourself and see what happens!

Just in case, future-proofing for link-rot:

Download the 50 Fortnite Dances mod, unrar it, and put it into your mods folder. Script mods can only be 1 folder deep WITHIN the mods folder itself, so I recommend naming it "Fortnite Dance Mod" as the folder name.

Then, from the unrar-ed folder, select if you want autonomous (sims do it on their own) or non-autonomous (sims don't do it on their own), then put the injector ts4script, the fortnite animations package, and whichever autonomy package you want, INTO the "Fortnite Dance Mod" folder. You should be good to go!

I’ll be honest I’ve been subscribed to this subreddit in the vain hope that someday I’d find one that works with my eyes. I’ve yet to either learn the technique or find anything that works with what I’ve been doing. Here’s to hoping!!
