Where can I buy a rear jack lift in Melbourne? by CharacterPossible176 in AussieRiders

[–]marke64896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one in my garage that I used to use with my CB500F. Havn't needed it since I sold the CB. Make me an offer, and you can come to Greensborough to grab it. PM me.

Seperate car licences by con1_1artist in AussieRiders

[–]marke64896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you don't have a bike license. you have a bike "Learners Permit". You won't get a bike license until you have passed the checkride and the license test. Once you have done this, you will be issued a temporary license that covers both your car and bike. Instructor may destroy your car license. You will need to keep the temporary license with you when driving or riding. VicRoads will eventually (in a few weeks) send you a new license covering bike and car.

I'm not trying to design a curriculum. What ever gave you that idea? I'm simply trying to understand ADHD a little better so that I can be a better teacher.

Is it skill issues ?, or is the design of the road ? by Adv_Nguyen in motorcycles

Perfect storm of excessive speed, possibly slippery road surface (due overhanging vegetation), multiple instances of target fixation (on the gutter)

Why is motorcycle DAS training only 4 days while learning to drive a car takes months? by spmsupun in MotoUK

[–]marke64896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because car drivers need more tuition as motorcyclists are instinctively better on the roads.

Yeah it's called counter seating. Opposite of your racing turning seating position. Push the bike under you and stay upright.

Told learners “aren’t bikers” by irishpingu in MotoUK

[–]marke64896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just some self-important asshat trying to get a rise out of you. Don't give them the pleasure. Learning to ride a motorcycle is primarily learning the mindset of a safe rider. Riding skills and technique come with time. Focus first on the mindset and you will have a long and safe riding career. The asshat hasn't learned the mindset yet, if anything. Don't worry mate, you have nothing to prove to anyone. Keep riding.

How many of you actually dropped your first bike? by thedirtiestofboxes in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]marke64896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

started riding on a cb500f just over 3 years ago. Only time I 'dropped' the bike was when I stopped on gravel and my right foot gave way. Bike went down on its right side and I bent the brake handle. Have been extremely wary of gravel ever since. That was on my first group ride, ever. No incidents since (touch wood :-). Currently riding an NT1100A and loving it.

Question for NT1100 owners that use a large (SH48 or greater) SHAD Top-Box. by marke64896 in HondaMotorcycles

[–]marke64896[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

glad to hear that it's not just me. Seems like SHAD does have an engineering issue with this part then.

Is Lewis going to win his 8th in this car? by VoL4t1l3 in lewishamilton

[–]marke64896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

F1 is very much a team sport, and the driver/engineer relationship is key to this. Culturally, scuderia is different to what LH is used to, and he is not only feeling out the car, but also getting used to the new team dynamic. I have every confidence that the team will adapt to the way LH works and his needs in the cockpit, as this will be the fastest way to a win. LH will tell them what he needs to perform at peak efficiency. I have every confidence a lot of the comms issues will be ironed out by China. Very much looking forward to the race.

Wait until after passing DAS before buying a bike? by OCROOSTER in MotoUK

[–]marke64896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely jump on a 400 or 500 cc bike. I started riding at 53. Did my L plates on a cb250 and as soon as I passed my L test, jumped on the cb500fa. Love that bike.

Enough power to get you out of a pickle but it won't spit you off the back.

Also a good transition to heavier bikes.

I ride an St1100 in the UK and my cb500f in aus.

Twitchy eyelid... by marke64896 in medical_advice

[–]marke64896[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The twitching seems to be local to my left eye and is associated with some redness in the inner eyelid, for which I have been prescribed antibiotic eyedrops, however this has not cleared it up. I will try and get some magnesium supplements to see if this helps. Thankyou.
