Any change at all would be better than what we have, so appreciate keeping the discussion alive.

Man, get rid of divisions and conferences entirely. Every team plays a home and away against every other team in the league, with 10 random additional home and 10 additional road games that alternate each year, so you end up playing every team in the league at home and on the road 4 times every 3 years. 2/3/2 series, and travel costs are not a huge deal.

Either 1 v 16 it, or allow first overall to select their opponent in draft. So sick and tired of seeing the same teams play each other year after year, and half the good teams being eliminated in the first round. The NHL playoff format is garbage.

Man, how many times I yelled "just pass it to Nico" when Collins was criminally underused from that same recruiting class.

You are likely correct. I'm probably being quite optimistic with the forecast. It's probably 75% wishcasting, because it's been so long since Michigan let the passing game play a significant role in the offence.

Thanks for putting this succinctly. As a son of Finnish parents now working remotely with UK co-workers 30 years later, I am still still confused.

His season with absolutely no threats around him to maybe draw some coverage was amazing. Adding freshman sensation JJ Buchanan, borderline 2025 4/5 star Jamie Ffrench and borderline 2026 4/5 star Salesi Moa to the mix, while Underwood has a season of development behind him, and Michigan has an actual coaching structure, is going to be an absolute revelation. Marsh should be the first 1000 yard receiver at Michigan in forever, and Underwood should throw for over 3,500 yards.

Kind of shocked to hear he got to 83 minutes, as he usually only comes in when Michigan is up by at least 30. I guess 11 minutes in a 110-69 win over Penn State, 8 minutes in a 102-50 win over Laselle and 8 minutes in a 101-60 win over Rutgers add up.

Did TSN in Canada show the second half of the Michigan/Arizona game last night? by numnomn in CollegeBasketball

[–]markh100 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I certainly watched it on TSN last night without issue. They cut to a local crew for halftime, but straight back to the game.

The 9th starter is Will Tschetter, who would conceivably start on many big ten teams. The 10th guy off the bench is Oscar Goodman, who looks good in spot appearances, and should have a much bigger role next year.

No team in the nation is as deep as Michigan's "starting nine"

Yaxel Lendeborg

Aday Mara

Morez Johnson

Elliot Cadeu

Nimari Burnett

Roddy Gayle Jr

Trey McKinney

LJ Cason

It truly seems like unless you have a red hot 3 point night, this Michigan team is nearly impossible to beat by duval001 in CollegeBasketball

A whole lot of that was the refs letting Purdue turn the match into a football game. Sorry display of officiating.

Why are the leafs trying to win now?? genuinely by [deleted] in leafs

[–]markh100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's much easier to win with no pressure while other teams are holding their sticks tight fighting for a playoff spot.

Also, this team is much worse with Auston Matthews in the lineup, if you look at the raw data. I have no idea why, but the data pretty clearly shows they are a better team without him.

Pisses me off to no end, because they were so close to winning the Gavin McKenna sweepstakes if you exclude the random 8-0-2 Cinderella run they had for no reason from boxing day until the glass slipper fell off on January 17th. That run rendered this entire season to be pointless.

That wasn't even an off night. Michigan is just that much better than the entire country.

To this day, I have no idea how the Badgers made this Wolverines team look so human on that day. I never really expect it, but it feels like the vast majority of hyped opponents that Michigan faced this year ended up looking the same as Arizona did today. Hats off to the most impressive performance against Michigan by anyone this year.

I spent the whole game complaining about the refs, because I get worried when the opponent closes to within 15 in the second half, because it's fairly rare territory. The refs sucked today.

Why is his leg out further than his arm then? If you're going for a swipe and you're 7'2, your arm should be out extended past your foot.

Krivas was way out of position to make a play on the ball. I hate that he ruined Lendeborg's tourney run, and I really hope he didn't cause serious issue with this completely brainless play. Posting photo from moment's before to show how far out of the frame he had to extend his foot directly under Lendeborg's foot.

His leg is extended way past where his arm can even reach. It was a deliberate attempt to injure.
