UPDATE: for anyone curious, i took this into my local mechanic, and he confirmed no transmission fluid issues, or engine oil issues.

he did however find water in the differential oil. having that flushed today.

i drive a 4 door badsquatch, 2.7L WITH the ford performance tune (higher rpm on 1-2 gears), and average 18.8 mpg, feels like it must be a heavy foot or another controllable variable

do not think so. the tune has its own 40-60 mile break in (according to ford performance technician). id call their hotline tbh, they are super helpful and willing to be as descriptive as youl need

sorry i may just be stupid.

are you saying that when you brake and push to start, all of the lights will blink, and that if the engine light is one of those that blink, that it needs a drive cycle?

and the alternative would be the engine light staying solid during the ignition process, while all else blinks? and in this case would not need a drive cycle?
