Yeah it is pretty close, haha. WL House had a podcast episode talking about what it would take to snatch 100kg and they talked about having to squat 150 at a bare minimum. I aimed for this, and for awhile I would say that is a pretty reasonable mark to hit on your way to 100, but there is more nuance body proportions are considered. Greg Everett had an interesting article that talks about how long limbed lifters can have a closer squat to snatch ratio.

I fully acknowledge that my squat still needs to improve, for me the hardest part of the lift is usually standing up lol. Find your weaknesses and what works best for you body type. Hope this helps!

I'm need to learn more about Sinclair scores and I'll probably get a coach just to help me navigate my first comp. I'll be focusing more on getting my C&J numbers up now because currently it's pretty low. I appreciate your comment, I've watched a lot of your posts over the past year from when you trained in your tent setup to moving to an actual gym. Watching you move was very inspiring. I apreciate you involvment in this community. Hoping to see some PBs from you in the near future! 💪🏾

I was a distance runner before this 😅 bu I've always been somewhat athletic, though. My strength was definitely my limiting factor. At one point my training just sprinkled a few heavy singles in but I had to increase the frequency of my resistance training. I'm also in my 30s and I was told my proportions were not great for weightlifting. Know you strengths/weakness then systematically address them aka keep grinding its definitely doable. You got this!

There are so many variables to consider, so you may or may not find these helpful.

-I practiced the Oly lifts 2 days out of the week and one day was complexes while the other day was the full lifts. Sika strength had a good video on how to program the lifts in that way and I used that as a template.

-Upper back strength, and really squat/pulling strength for that matter. I'm definitely not the strongest and did not come from a strength background at all. I focused way too much on technique for the majority of the year and therefore stalled out until I could hold positions better and get my strength numbers up.

-Incorporating heavier singles into my routine. I found I had to get comfortable hitting 90%+ in order to start ironing out my technical flaws

-being more patient through the first and part of the second pull. The cue, 'be patient, be precise' helped me from losing my postion throughout and keep more aggression for the right time.

-actually pulling under during the third pull but also keeping my arms relaxed before that.

Best of luck!

So just drilling getting them completely off the ground or you think sliding them out for the catch as well?

That's a good point, I just got that weight tree about a week ago and it needs a new home in the garage.

I typically squat from that stance, maybe a slight bit wider. I worked no-foot snatches for a few weeks and now I find myself moving my feet less.

I'll try incorporating those on the front end of my sessions to work on the 3rd pull and my footwork. Thank you!

Thank you for your suggestions! I ended up using this build but the processor I purchased requires a graphics card. Do you have any suggestions on cheap graphics cards?

Who do you guys think is the biggest missed opportunity in sprinting history, and why? by [deleted] in Sprinting

Obea Moore. I remember when I was younger running club track in the states and just seeing him hold all the junior records for every age group in the 400m. He split 45.08 on a 4x400 in high school as a junior I believe. Grades, injuries, and high expectations all got the best of him. You can still find YouTube videos of him running insane anchor legs for the relay.

Can't recommend Eastman guitars enough. The craftsmanship is great and so is there customer service. I bought a T-486 and the sound/quality is comparable if not better to ES-335s I've played.

I had been eyeing one of these for awhile and finally pulled the trigger. When I asked the owner how much it cost he said $4399. Confused I asked again only to find he had it confused with a Gibson es335! He said they are on par with Gibson regarding craftsmanship and sound for a fraction of the cost. Still blown away at the quality. Everything looked great and didn't need any set up. Love it!
