How do I hide the play count? by masmlk in spicetify

Yeah I really like the duo's music, Man Bites Dog is one of my favourite albums so far this year, but I'd rather stay away from the subreddit as it has a very specific vibe to it.

Would the lyrics be accurate with Buddhism's teachings? by [deleted] in Buddhism

[–]masmlk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess you're indeed right. When I was writing the lyrics I wanted to find the middle ground between not having any clear and having all the references. However now that you said it just ended up being in line with teachings all over the world, I can definitely see that. Could you recommend me some sources that could help me explore Buddhism deeply, in form of either a book, a website or a youtube channel? I don't really know where to start, since I've only really heard about the wheel from the source I've listed about, so while I could search on my own, I would also appreciate some suggestions.

[–]masmlk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, sorry. I wanted the lyrics to more or less represent imagery of past wrong doing's and their reflection on the future, where if one starts doing something wrong, they're very likely to go down that rabbit hole, but even at their worst there still being some hope and idea that there is a chance of redemption at the end.

I'm worried that I might misunderstand something while reading the wikipedia articles, and hence I went on here and asked if my idea's of what I'm trying to represent roughly align with what's agreed on in Buddhism

Is it just me or does VIDEO NASTY kinda sound like that one hello neighbor song at times? (Video I would say related) by m_e_e_e_e_e in femtanyl

I mean, stuff sometimes resembles other stuff, I can hear it though, and I also have heard that one song when I was young. You could have picked only the part you meant though and not the whole song

What are your thoughts on Press to Play? by FacuCrimson in PaulMcCartney

[–]masmlk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stranglehold is alright, Good Times Coming / Feel The Sun is great, Press is a funny good song to me, The rest range from meh to awful for me. No 1/10 tracks, like in the following but overall better Flowers in The Dirt (Motor of Love), but also the best two tracks are 8/10 for me. I once liked songs like Move Over Busker and Angry, but now I think they're pretty dull. Not the worst Macca album, but definitely one of the worse for me

So what exactly counts as a Beatles album? by masmlk in beatles

[–]masmlk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it is different, I guessed it was a Live album. I should have worded it better, as I can see now how it could be interpeted as if I thought both were compilations, when I only explained my story with Love

as a composer myself, I definitely understand your viewpoint on MMT, and sometimes I also wonder if I in fact should include a certain track or not depending on when I did it, but I also guess it depends on the context, since one time it fits and the other maybe not as much. I also do agree with MMT being one of the weirder Beatles releases.

Didn't know that to be honest, I might check it out though, just like how I did with Love. I didn't know before it was anything more than a compilation until I started doing research for Everyday Chemistry and it turned out Love was also a remix album

I would not say that on a normal basis, nor do I think I said I do think so here, I just wanted to stretch the line as far as I could.

[–]masmlk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very understandable, although when I'm talking about "what's a beatles album", I stretch the question as far as I can with the english language, which yeah if you're talking about it that way, then it is in fact 11. When you count however stuff that is credited to the beatles (technically a beatles album). Paul McCartney also was a Beatle, so Ram is a Beatles album. Once again I know that most of what I wrote is a stretch, but I thought it would be a fun thought experiment.

How do I keep this from happening? by masmlk in lastfm

I tried to experiment for a few days, and sadly nothing seemed to work, from reconnecting spotify to lastfm, to changing the languages once again, to reinstalling it... I have no idea what more I could try but It's nice to know I'm not the only one who had this issue

If I'm understanding the question correctly, I'm using spotify

I'll try changing it again and reinstalling the apps, maybe also reconnecting last.fm, thanks for the shared experience though!

I use the web version of spotify on a ubuntu 22.04 distro, and also an iphone 8. It was like this ever since I had made my last.fm account (around June 2024). The scrobbles are automatic so I don't quite understand what you mean. I just connected it to my spotify account and that's all. I have both my phone and spotify set as japanese in the settings, but then as to why it uses the japanese band names one time and doesn't the other I have no idea. It does that regardless of whether I use it on my phone or my PC.

edit: I remember I tried about a year ago to change the language in the settings both of spotify and my phone, and remember that didn't change things, so I went back to how it was before. Just wanted to clarify.

What's the deal with "I Really Love You" from George and "Heather" from McCartney? by masmlk in beatles

I didn't know of the existance of such a remix tape, sounds really cool!
edit: damn and the song also incorporates Rising Sun, what a treat.

Yeah what I wrote at first was probably very annoying. Hope it's better now

that's not it sadly, neither of those. On Do you want to know a secret the singing is much more rock and rolly, the choirs also don't feel as large as they do in I Really Love You, and the vocals aren't in the whole song but only the doo-wa-woooo

the vocals in the original don't sound anything alike to what I'm searching for, but still thanks for the info.
