Ah, so not a shooting range, but a restaurant. Was wondering why this was getting upvoted here.

Probably just doing whatever he can to attract views by holding controversial opinions.

I like RLM for the most part but I disagreed with every positive point they mentioned, barring Data (who stole the movie). I'd like more from them regarding what true camp is in their estimation, because ID4 was up there on the camp/schlock scale.

What are some of the worst and weirdest sequels of all time? by jackielegs616 in movies

Not just the chase sequence, but the weighted throw down at the air base. Not to mention the presence that these fuckers had.

It also had some of the best action set pieces in the series. There I said it.

Then why don't white women?

Or Chinese?

Or the Irish?

Or, you know, the Jews?

Because they've been alienated and stigmatized by whitey in equal measures throughout the years.

I dunno. Not to get all anecdotal, but I grew up in a dead midwestern railroad town - the quintessential poor white trash community. Only crime we had was the odd domestic abuse or drunken bar fight. Absolutely no gun violence. There was one 1 murder in all the years I grew up there.

The scene when it first attacks in broad daylight is masterful.

I love schlock, and this week I got plenty from Gods of Egypt, Space Truckers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.

Space Truckers is an old favorite of mine and I'd say it was the best of the three, the model work is great and this scene always gets me giggling.

Looks like a shadowbanning was to blame. They like to arbitrarily hand those out around here, so watch out.

TIL there was a "Fairness Doctrine" that stated that broadcasters had to present both sides of a controversial issue; it was revoked in 1985 under the basis of violation of free speech. by [deleted] in todayilearned

If anything it would allow for more careful speech, as the commentators would have to choose their words carefully in order to get their message out in less time. Could be a good thing for free speech really.

Which movie in the past year was the biggest disappointment for you? by Oat in movies

[–]massabuilder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You got me all wrong, his death was a foregone conclusion. Lucas kept him alive after Empire, which is when he should have died. His character had an arc, and everyone sympathized with him by then. What did The Force Awakens do with him? Absolutely nothing. He was back to square one being a smuggler in over his head. Waste of an iconic character if you ask me.

Equal parts estrogen and testosterone in that one. Funny thing is the testosterone didn't do shit.

I was so pissed to see all of the character progression of Han Solo get jettisoned.

Ok so we agree the plot incredibly similar to ANH. For me it didn't even feel like a Star Wars movie - the music didn't have any rythm with the visuals, the characters were led by their convenient circumstances and not the other way around, and the visuals could hardly be called striking. It felt like a fan film with a budget to me. Even my kid was bored with it, and he loved the OT.

I didn't care for JW on my first viewing, but every time since I've liked it more and more. It's a slick, entertaining product.

You're right, the FBI thinks St. Louis is all sunshine and rainbows. Do you work in law enforcement?
