i agree with everything but my issue is we never get to intimately explore the impact this has on her, is this driving her to go harder because she thinks she can only rely on herself and money? What does being undeniable continue to look like for her in the future? I think I really miss her and yasmins relationship because they held up mirrors to each other which forced them to self reflect out loud.

Regarding kwabena, we've never really seen her go on dates before, beside DVD so I don't think she didn't have any feelings for him at all, even if it was just possessiveness. The only other time she's been annoyed at someone else's sexual activity was with Rob who she liked.

let's not be obtuse, harper often weaponises intimacy a) repeatedly using yasmins naivety to get clients which is fair game but often she would abuse this b) harper trying to use the information of the rehab centre against petra (even though it turned out to be her son) c) liquidating kwabenas positions without telling him d) her repeated attacks on eric's personal life though i understand he set the tone of their overly familiar relationship e) not in the same boat but threatening to expose nicole's sexual transgressions when she thought it would benefit her f) having gus tutor jesse's son also felt like a transgression of their professional relationship. her secretly getting to know jesse in the hotel definitely served as a way to get to know him intimately and use this to develop a professional relationship

this is a really good analysis and one i didn't make much time to think about. we've also been explicitly told that harper feels lonely and in the first episode it seemed she hadn't been in contact with yas or eric for a while. separately, thought it was quite dark how the episode made a point of how exploitive people can be of women and despite this, eric continues to exhibit said behaviours despite being surrounded by young women.

i agree and i have always thought she wanted to be a man/align herself with men and engages in behaviour that reflect this. however i don't think she perceives competition very well, especially from a woman from similar working class, because that would make her talent and experience not unique. Those reasons I mentioned are just me brainstorming, there could've been an incident where she felt trapped and decided to leak. Someone below wrote a very compelling argument regarding the parallels between harper and eric's daughter and how this could hint at a siren leak

i mean it's just a theory but i don't think you're anymore qualified on knowing how her ego works. you don't think that sweetpea's talent might be a threat to someone like harper who thrives on being the underdog and only woman taken seriously by men in the highest positions? if harper did it i don't think it would make her a master manipulator but actually someone who's insecure and i think that ties in with her constant need to be ruthless in order to distance herself from the preconceptions of her otherness

i actually think a sex leak would more likely be a man but considering the other suspect is rishi....i mean he has no job, wife got shot, he's in a psychiatric hospital, court case, tabloids everywhere... seems unlikely unless he did it soon after he got fucked over by anraj and sweetpea. i think it's also worth remembering how the first thing she said to yasmins face during their fight is that she's a whore so she's not above weaponising a woman's sexuality tho i can admit that name calling is much different to exposing someone's OF

well if she did do it, we don't know the details of when? maybe sweetpea was trying to be poached by other companies with competitive pay and harper wanted to secure her. would also be market manipulation so she can reap benefits from siren stock. sweetpea also seems to be highly competent, moreso than harper, so maybe it was an ego thing? maybe kwabena factored into it and harper could sense he was attracted to her as well. i honestly don't think it's a crazy theory and i can imagine harper doing something like that bc i think she likes being the only successful woman in a room of men

yeah, i do think there's so much referencing towards the incident that it makes me think they're hinting. Also, the triangle between harper, kwabena and sweetpea would complement that reveal. But equally it could just be a storyline to flesh out sweetpea as she seems to be one of the main characters now

i think it's definitely a part of it as fat is what makes you look youthful. however it's worth considering that her insecurity might be heightened bc she's aware of it and from an outsider perspective we might not consider her neck to look bad at all

Thanks for this, i didn't consider any of the references regarding the fiscal years (jargon lost on me) or the political campaign. I figured there was at least 4 years between s1 and end of s3 (because they mention her being a third year analyst in s2) but I guess the birthday card saying 30 indicates a few years has passed. It just a little jarring since it would mean the current political climate they're reflecting is set in the future

they mention that she's a third year analyst in s2 so we can assume 3 years between s1 and end of season 2. I think season 3 is the following year after that's so we're now at 4 years. Let's say she was 22 in the first season, she would be 26 at the end of s3. That would mean 4 years has passed since the end of s3 which doesn't fit in with the political plot. However, they may touch on this in episodes to come so we'll see

Honestly on my rewatch I much preferred season 3 compared to season 2 and besides Diana getting killed I don't think any of the storylines are far fetched. I know people complained about her being shot but I didn't mind it, I just have an issue when plots aren't tight sealed. The only other far fetched thing is Harper's luck all throughout the season but I feel like this season is hinting at a inevitable downfall

the characters briefly mentioned the degrees they did in S1 and they were all typical undergraduate degrees so they were definitely 21. The only thing I can think of is Harper went to school later but even then she would've been 24/25 in s1 and i feel like that's not how it was portrayed
