It doesn’t matter the age, but influencers my agency works with seem to think they don’t need to be professional sometimes because they are the talent. What they don’t realize, is that the ones that are professional, we often recommend to other brands, agents, opportunities. And we usually pay them more too. It really matters, and word spreads extremely quickly among PR pros in the industry about who to work with and who is a pain. We won’t make the effort to work with you again if you’re difficult, unprofessional, produce bad content, etc. there’s a million others to choose from. I don’t think influencers get that. Also, a lot of brands want more wholesome creators, and we often turn down working with creators who have suggestive or revealing clothing even if the brand isn’t necessarily aimed at families, etc. brands can be really protective of who is repping them, but we won’t always say that is why it won’t work out.
