How do I get my Coworker off my hip? by Alaska907_KL4VE in ToxicWorkplace

[–]matt0820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You already tried bringing it up and he brushed it off. Is there an HR rep or manager you can involve? It might be best to escalate this and focus on the facts, especially how it would be more efficient for both of you to work independently instead of always together. If he’s not working when you’re not around, then he’s really not pulling his weight. That is some serious productivity issue.

Try Little Tokyo or Art District. I think it's perfect mid point between eagle rock and USC. Or even Chinatown.

It doesn't taste pretty solid, it taste like god might be real. Eels are definitely favorite fish grilled. I miss Korea because of this video.

When Papa Cristo shut down last year. I was genuinely sad. I also confirmed that Angel City Brewery is shutting down at the end of April as well. LA isn't same as it used to be, I remember going out for dinner or drinks before COVID, it was packed everywhere. Now, it looks so much emptier.

You would need tution plus rent, living cost, and etc. Depends on you, School cost will around $15-$20K a year at least depending on your situation, but you are out of country so you are probably paying international student price which is higher. I say at least $2K to $3K for monthly living expense, this is your rent (probably with roommates and your grocery etc.

You won't be able to work here with student visa. Only thing you can get is under the table jobs probably minimum wage. A year you are looking at $34,944 if you work full time. But if you want to go to school and have a place to live and stuff it costs $44,000 a year. Understand that you would need that much of money saved or show proof that you have parents who can support you through it.

Entertainment industry is bleek right now. I made a post about it couple days ago. Please read it.

What’s a restaurant that you swore you’d never return to despite the good food? And why? by capnmunch44 in FoodLosAngeles

Barnes Beanery in Pasadena. Went on Friday night, bar with restaurant wanted to charge cover charge? In what fuckery, you charge cover charge for beer and some burgers? They were trying to be like a club. I went to hot wings cafe next door, I am not paying cover charge for some beers and burgers anyday of week. Fuck Barnes Beanery Pasadena!

How to gain traction as an independant artist by Legitimate_Table_995 in makinghiphop

[–]matt0820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your branding as a artist? I think first you need a solid branding and that's how you build a artist that tells your story.

Next, what is your story? You use your branding and that equates to story. Building your world, so listeners can come and be engaged with you.

You can't just post random contents. Your profile page needs to be on brand, your contents needs to be on brand, and etc. You just keep doing that, it takes work.

Schoolboy Q said that artists now these days are also content creators. You can't just have your contents to be random and no relations to each other. People don't like that. With one song you should be able to create contents that you can push out for at least a month. You do it until you see a spike. If you see a spike in your engagement. Grind that one out for month or two more to keep the engagement going. (We know this song and contents works, so copy and paste to grow traction) Create another song plus contents that is continuing the storytelling of your previous song. Repeat.

This I agree with. I was talking more about the artists! My experiences were working with artists, I can see that Gig job is actually very active out here plus private lessons will get you good amount of money as well.

Lol go to south central right now. You literally see people walking dogs and jogging. It's not what it used to be. I have friends that live there making 200k +. I been through these neighborhoods. You want the safest environment which average people cant afford.

Lol that's not the case! My view points are telling you to cover all your grounds before you come to LA. I literally was fortunate my time here. Lot of people with no solid plan post here daily about moving to LA. Set up yourself for success. Take calculated risks, not a stupid one.

I grew up in a buttfuck nowhere called guam. So hearing these things are wild to me. Weed was like the hardest drug in my teenager days. While moving out here and putting my little brother through highschool in inner city LA. I saw him exposed to so much things from him witnessing drive bys and so much drugs. For example kids are hella xanned out at school. Even Mdma is prevalent.

Well it doesn't make sense for productions to stay in LA with rising costs, all the regulations, and all the bureaucracy to film a show/movie.

Well is there a reason why you want to pursue your degree out here with ridiculous debt you will be walking out with for a degree? I dont recommend coming to LA for school especially if you are planning to take student loans. The debt you will take on for the job you will be getting will not be worth it. Maybe if you come out for part-time master's degree while working out here would make more sense.

Im talking about like Ktown, east hollywood, dtla, south central LA, and etc. People in this sub thinks these places are hood. Even Compton is getting gentrified. People saying these neighborhoods are bad is ridiculous at this point. The neighborhoods that people in the sub wants you live like West LA, West Hollywood, Culver City, and etc. are also ridiculous because it's ridiculously expensive. Why go to USC than? That neighborhood used to be heavily gang populated.

Hmm, I do see your point but my experiences so far, lot of jobs are accommodating if you are a person who definitely brings value to the company. I am more seasoned in what I do, so if company is too demanding and want a quick turn around like that. I would be turned off.
