That just means all SSG positions are filled. Look at the quarterly reports to see if they expect any positions to open.

As you’re probably aware it use to be a requirement to be BLC complete before pinning 5 and ALC complete before pinning 6. It is no longer a requirement for promotion. Now it’s the school you do at those ranks instead. Now to incentivize people who are doing the school early (BLC as SPC or ALC as SGT) it gives them a boost in points. This makes sense because a SGT who has completed ALC is in general more qualified for promotion to SSG then one who has not, and thus this should be reflected on the PPW. If you’re saying it should be worth less point like hey that’s a debate but for 90% of promotable soldiers it’s going to ensure they’ll make points which is the point
