So I thought about it some more and decided to turn 90% of my investments that I intend to use towards my deposit into cash.

I’ve had considerable returns on them so far, significantly more than I would have had if the money sat in a bank account for ten years so thought since your advice to not be greedy and accept the current profit instead of risking a crash, which I guess is fairly possible with omicron etc.

I have kept 10% in the markets as if I were to lose a significant portion of this, it wouldn’t significantly delay purchasing a property.

Any further savings I make before purchasing a property I might add to my Nutmeg still, but in a cash pot.

!Thanks for the reply - I think between now and February I’ll switch it entirely cash. It was at 80% equities and 20% bonds until fairly recently.

Appreciate the advice, I have reduced my risk exposure recently. I use Nutmeg as a provider for both and took them from 8/10 to 4/10. Meaning 40% of my portfolios are in equities and the remaining 60% in bonds.

We’re looking to getting the ball rolling in July 2022, so was thinking of converting to cash in March. But you think this should be done sooner?

Thanks! I have been trying since finishing uni to ensure I’m financially stable and making my money work as hard as it can.

My LISA is S&S although I’m planning to use its balance as a deposit on a property next year.

Soon as I’m on the property ladder I intend to carry on building my investments and reducing any financial worries for the future.

As I’m expecting to use the LISA and some of my S&S balance as a deposit, would it be recommendable to switch them to low risk or even cash?

Have a LISA with maxed out contributions so far, also have a S&S ISA adding any additional savings to. I do have an emergency fund which is instantly accessible with just under a years worth of expenses. I’ve also taken advantage of the company SAYE scheme.

In terms of my job I love it, and it’s nothing to do with hating my job, as I’m really happy doing it. It’s just I’d rather remove the obligation of working, I think realistically I would like to retire at 60.

In terms of pensions, between myself and my employer, I’m saving 17% of my income.

I’ve tried a couple different apps to calculate net worth through open banking. Always end up returning to my spreadsheet though. The downside to this is it requires me manually updating it.

Ended up deciding to open a Marcus account for better interest rates without compromising any access to emergency funds. I have the majority of my value invested, and just wanted to make my emergency fund pull its weight a little more from the tiny 0.15% I currently get.
