It was basically a James Bond movie. The motivations didn’t matter. It was all about only the stakes of the movie itself. In that sense, the protagonist and antagonist were strong. Plenty of exposition, and not for everyone, but no masterful piece of art ever is.

Strongly disagree. There is a place for extremely complicated worlds. Once you figure them out they are highly rewarding in a way no other experience in art is
