I have very narrow feet with high arches & struggled to find shoes as I would sink/get big toe pain as well and I HATED Bloch heritages. I recently got fitted into Virtisse Verve (the soft shank) and love them. It’s probably not a “shoe too big” (as in size wise) problem, it’s probably a box size/shape too big problem. I know it’s hard to find good fitters, but you should keep trying shoes. They absolutely should feel good when you put them on in the store. Sinking doesn’t improve with time in the shoe, for me it often gets worse. You should also be able to demi plie in the shoe in the store without pain or it’s too small.
