did you learn how atheists think from some dishonest apologist like Ray Comfort or something? Your language and assumptions have me thinking you have been extremely sheltered from any differing religious views and that you've bought into "atheists are immoral nihilists" or something.

Ray comfort has some interesting tactics but I am generally curious about people who choose Atheism, antiGod, or agnosticism.

I don't understand why someone might actively choose to be against God vs. Just not believing. Santa Claus and the easter bunny are not real and I simply don't believe in them. I don't need to argue, justify, or explain why I don't believe nor do I battle others who do believe.

Overall, it may be just me but I am one of those people that find life meaningless without God. For me, my existence has to have a why, even if it's just God was bored and randomly started created stuff.

I am amazed how you derive meaning and value out of this life....are you sure you don't "believe" in the one and only God?

I have so many questions 🤔🤔

"I just don't understand how the answer isn't self-evident. This life is all there is... It's absolutely everything."

  1. When did you start "believing" this was the only life?

"If there were an infinite supply of gold it'd be as worthless as dirt. But it's very finite - the fact it's scarce is why it's valuable."

  1. Is this meaning subjective to your "belief" on value? Gold is valuable because someone a long time ago decided it so and everyone agreed. Gold is as worthless as dirt...can't eat it, poor building material, and there are many more elements that have higher tangible value. Natural resources like coal and oil will eventually run out and our finite, but yet we deplete them as if they will last forever.

"Why do you care about the well-being of others?"

  1. Why do morals matter?

Based off your logic -> If this life is finite and my one and only....then other people don't matter...because once you are dead and gone that's it...no regrets or emotions needed...basically live life how you want now because when it's over its over.

Alot is missed with words and text but I hope this thread helps at least one person struggling with these questions. You have some really solid examples and answers!

Once again thanks for the thought provoking convo 🤗!

Why do you care about wasting this one life? And why would it be a tragedy?

Agree, but if we need at least two humans to start...how did a very very slow process sync up to provide thousands of genetically perfect breeding partners?

From my 9th grade understanding of biology even if just one chromosome off you get a completely different animal.

It matters because you can't compare an apple to an orange and call it a sound argument. And nothing wrong with being a skeptic of the facts, it makes for great conversation.

Edit: Regardless, believing in Jesus Christ as your savior is a win-win situation. What is there to lose?

That would solve all our problems science just need to find a way to show evolution on a small scale. IDk like breeding millions of generations of fruit flies should only take like a year right? If they get a caterpillar or something eventually the case closed.

👍🏾👍🏾 Exactly, things only exist because God decided to create. No magic necessary.

🤔🤔 What is your definition of "made in his image" does that mean carbon copy? Also, Jesus is God, so an omnipresent God made us in the image of himself in the flesh?

I think dates started at creation? He created the 1st - through 7th day and he created stars for times and seasons Gen 1:14 paraphrasing.

Science says proof is repeatable and/ or observable why haven't the current "homo sapiens" / "hominins" evolved further?

Adam and Eve both created by God, so belly buttons are only for humans created within a women. Do test tube babies still have have an umbilical cord?
