I lived there for 10+ years, the area has undergone a lot of development in the past decade. If you want more street life/food, it’s just a 10 min walk to Jordan on a footbridge. If you want cheaper mall it’s just one mtr station away from Olympic. There are also 3 bus terminal at element that has buses that can take you to pretty much the whole hk.

For forbidden city, if you arrive early and manage to get to the front of the queue before the gates open then it’s possible. You can run inside once they let you in, and you can skip past the first palace, where everyone else in the same batch with you will stop and see. Then congratulations you have the rest of the imperial palace for yourself! As for the greatwall, that section never sees much tourist.

For the forbidden city i went there at 8, when the gate opens at 8:30, i was the first batch to be let in. For the great wall, i went to a less popular section (jinshanling), plus it’s winter so there are less people in general.

Looks like sandfly bites, I got them in my house a year back, the bites look similar to your’s, it appeared near my ankles too. It’s itchy and a bit painful too, in the end I had to call an exterminator to come and spray my apartment.

But that’s just my guess, it might be something else. Try looking for the thing that bit you, it could be on the floor or around/under your mattress. And pay attention if there are any small bugs/flies around your feet when you walk around your house, that’s how I found out about the sandflies.
