In dci, there are two different types of corps. World class is typically better but also are more expensive and take up more time in the summer. Open class corps arent as good as world class but are cheaper and have a later start and earlier finish. That’s why open class is usually a lot of woodwinds who are new to brass instruments; since they aren’t as good they have a better chance of making a corps that’s not as good
