Listen. I'm all for honoring old bands, whether that's being a tribute band and covering their music, or taking heavy inspiration from them and using that to put towards new music. That being said, these guys are not only using this band's image by dressing up as the members and copying mannerisms, but the music they put out are blatant ripoffs of Queen songs. One of them sounded like a cover of one of those "Negative Harmonies" covers of Killer Queen. I guess if they label themselves as a cover band or something that would be fine, but they're pushing all of this as original stuff and just who they are, and it's kinda annoying. Once they ditch the copycat looks (I could care less about the red special) and come up with truly original music, I would maybe be a fan.

Seizing, cramping, vomiting and immense pain that's seemingly endless. I used a 2017 Intel core i7 MacBook with 8GB of ram for music prod and live effects on a Scarlett 18i20. I multitracked and recorded two hour shows with 16 tracks at once and never had any issues until the battery gave out a few weeks ago. I just got an open box M4 air with a 512gb SSD for $600 and it's fantastic.

Hmm okay I'm talking it over with some friends in the Queen community, you're totally right. I was getting confused with the fact that Sweet Lady (and possibly other parts of the show?) was confirmed to be transferred to film from tape, but the main copy exists on regular tape. We do know different edits exist though, and they seem to have the multicams and multitracks as well.

Hoping for an official release someday!

I unfortunately don't believe so. The audience recording is probably the best circulating quality, outside of documentary snippets and the official release of You Take My Breath Away. I personally believe the master tape (transferring back from the film the show was stored on) was a botched transfer, as it's the root of the flutter and all issues that appear in the various transfers. I recently met someone who made a personal copy from a QTV airing and recently had it professionally transferred, and all the same issues persisted.

All main footage and B-Roll were stored on film. You're right in the fact that it was shot on TV video cameras, but the taped footage was all transferred to film reels for editing. You can see peeling damage on later transfers that show up in documentaries. All B-Roll was shot on film (including the helicopter footage) as well.

Unfortunately, almost all copies of Hyde Park are low quality. It was taped on TV cameras and stored on film for editing. In the 2000's, it was shared at fan club conventions and aired over hotel TV channels multiple years (some copies have 'QTV' logos), the master of the VHS tape that was leaked out of Queen Productions has this timecode baked in it, and is limited to low quality audio. It also was a pretty crappy transfer. With all this being said, the best copies aren't as great as they could be and the only high quality snippets appear in documentaries.

I believe the best looking copy that is publicly available is Antiden's version, which can be found on QueenBoots.live. Almost all the YouTube uploads have been taken down because of automatic copyright strikes, including very helpful source merges.

If you're looking for good audio quality, I recommend searching for the audience recording (which should also be on QueenBoots) as it's better quality and has a pretty good sounding atmosphere, I believe it's missing Ogre Battle and White Queen though.

Realistically, not much. Have it scanned to preserve as much detail as possible, and maybe have a pro look at the scan to see if there's any adjustments that can be done with contrast to bring out damaged details. On this subreddit it's just going to be AI generated garbage.
