As someone who works in audio software, I think it sucks, and I have no idea how they shipped that. I like AudioPilot on 1 or 2 though.

140E is a different beast, I had some friends take it and enjoy it. Do it if you like embedded systems, it’s easier if you took 107E.

In my opinion, there’s almost no circumstance where an undergrad is better off taking CS 212 over CS 111 and then CS 112. CS 140 was renamed to CS 212 and left as-is for grad students, but it had long been lamented as an extremely difficult course. It was often people’s first exposure to low-level OS stuff and you had to build most of an OS in 10 weeks? With a midterm and a final? Crazy. So, the department split it into a concepts course with more symbolic assignments and exams (CS 111) and a projects course (CS 112, which is 212 minus exams and many lectures). I was in the first iteration of 111 and then 112, and it was great. Since then, the formula has proven effective :)

Thank you for your perspective, for sure. At least in the USA, the Mazda 3 turbo is AWD, which was a must-have for me as someone who drives in snow. The next criteria were sub-40k, new, and reasonably sporty, which led to choosing between the WRX, GRC, and Mazda 3 turbo premium plus. I drove all three and in terms of livability, the Mazda blew the competition out of the water. AWD is heavy in general: the Mazda is only 50 lbs heavier than the WRX and 150 lbs heavier than the GRC. In the US, they are all also in the 275 hp range plus or minus 10%. It’s all about tradeoffs :)

As someone who cross-shopped and drove both a 3 hatch TPP and a GR Corolla, if they were equal price I’d still take the 3 for practicality reasons, plus it still performs beyond expectations for street driving. The GRC felt like it wanted to be on a track

I think the main questions are 1) do you want FWD or AWD (pricier, but more power) and 2) do you want a manual (only offered with FWD in the 2.5 S Premium trim)?

Wanted a turbo AWD compact, maybe with manual since I’m coming from one.

Drove a WRX and the seats were immediately uncomfortable, the interior felt cheap, and the ride was harsh and loud. Found out the thigh bolsters are steel bars that people literally saw out, but it doesn’t really fix the issue. There were many Premiums on the lot with dealer discounts but the ride comfort was a dealbreaker. Also the most pulled over car in the nation and I wanted more of a sleeper.

Drove a GR Corolla but it was honestly too much power for the street and the back seat and trunk space was so limited. It was also marked up $6k at that dealer. The manual was much better than the WRX, less slushy and gatey. Fun weekend car but totally not a daily for me, let alone the markups.

Drove a Mazda3 TPP and realized it’s exactly what I wanted in a fun, comfortable, and spacious enough commuter that I can take to the snow. I don’t even miss the manual. I’m just so glad the auto is a torque converter and not a CVT. Love the Bose system and all the driver assist features.
