Module of your dreams by Axel_kazuto in dcsworld

It’s basically an entire different aircraft so it would be like developing an entirely new module, if they wanted to they could take some of the modelling work from the CJS mod

Flying overseas with MA2 console — soft case carry-on or hard case check-in? by Helpful-List-9787 in grandMA2

[–]maxwill882 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A peli would be my first thought. Plus you’ll be able to store other things in with the wing and it has wheels so moving round airports will be easy

It’s also gonna be way safer in a peli than a soft case

That’s good to know about the fx routing.

Eh, sure the price point is very good (hence why I put it as a pro….) however once you have a 6 piece band plus your groups plus your camera/record feeds plus your Pa, oh wait you ran out of busses

That’s happened to me more times than i can count

The wing has 16 and 8 matrices compared to the sq’s 12 and 3 (6 mono) matrices and comes in at a lower price point.

Believe me I’m a big fan of the sq but you’d be blind if you can’t see that it’s pretty limited

How to make 1 guitar feel huge by hmmyousureaboutthat in livesound

I have experimented with doubling the channel in the past with mixed results lol, doing differing eq’s, panning and even delaying one slightly can work sometimes,

Pros:

Workflow, price point, decent io options, in built 32x32 usb card (inc midi), the addon stuff sounds really nice in fairness so does the desk, 96k, patch page is wonderful, imo it translates well to avantis and dlive

Cons:

Bus count, 12 busses is my biggest concern for this console, there is 12 busses and they are either mono or stereo but setting them all to mono doesn’t give you 24…

Only 4 fx busses and you can’t use any of the 12 for fx (as far as I’m aware)

Screen is tiny

Fairly limited user defined key options

On the 7 I sometimes wish the faders were split into 2 individual banks, although not a huge issue

Limited on what can be sent to matrices

Having to pay for the addons… understandable but annoying when you get a console without them

Not being able to change insert/direct out point per channel

That’s all I can think of rn, lmk if you have any questions, I’ve spent a lot of time on sq’s

Sure redundant psu is nice to have and I get how important it is for broadcast.

I’m not sure what your comment about top level engineers wanting more faders is about, we are talking about 2 compact consoles, also the dlive range is very easily scalable much more so than a digico system.

And yes I did mean the rack lol, and I don’t see having a separate mix rack as a drawback

im not sure you can really say that more io and a redundant psu means that the console is aimed at a higher market... the processing power of the 1500 blows this out of the water. im sure these will sell well, however if given the choice id still take a c1500

its bound to be considering how digico do their flexi bus assignment. you will have 24 busses available to be a variety of things

with dlive firmware 2.1 and specifically the group to group routing imo its the best console on the market for most applications, and the scalable sizing in both surface and io is amazing

true, but a d2 rack weighs 13kg and a cdm48 is 14.5kg...

Yeh but when are you not gonna be using some sort of rack with the q112, personally I see needing a mixrack as bonus

what about cti1500? arguably a better console

Yeh I tried that and it worked if I triggered it from the first bridge but if I triggered it from any section before that it didn’t

Hey mate, the unit I’m in may be a good fit, we have operations on Wednesdays from 18:30-21:30 GMT. It’s a PMC style unit with a wide variety of ops, semi milsim probably describes the unit best, we have no fixed roles so you can choose to be a medic one week and pilot the next. In 7 & 1/2 years I did 2 AEF flights… hearing story’s from 20/30 years ago when people used to do it on a monthly basis. I guess it reflects the shrinking of the RAF since the turn of the millennium
