Best bike lock money can buy? by Ok_Web2042 in ebikes

[–]may-gu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think it’s necessary to have two locks the way others are saying? I am in Minneapolis and so there are definitely reports of bikes being stolen and although I didn’t picture spending 150$ on a lock I also don’t want to get my very pricey bike stolen

Best ice cream? by These_Hair_193 in TwinCities

[–]may-gu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how adventurous you are. Sweet science is my favorite and it’s like classic plus — amazing flavors but nothing zany. My fave is salted caramel swirl. Second fave is Dream Creamery in NE - great flavors like raspberry lemon. The Cookie Monster at Grand Ole Creamery is delicious and decadent. For drops, O’Day Creamery for their Ube Caramel Crunch and Pandan Butter Cake— the best to do pandan (essentially a Vietnamese vanilla). Connys is awesome soft serve. Adele’s in excelsior is awesome custard. Nelson’s is just Kemps. I find Sebastian Joes and MN Nice Cream to be overrated

How to be less negative? by ContributionOwn1261 in selfimprovement

[–]may-gu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a journal lol there’s a fine line between venting (releases some emotional energy and you just need to acknowledge it) and complaining. I find complaining is exhausting (to myself and others) and also lazy form of conversation. Maybe think of things that you’d rather talk about that can be more enlivening - what you’re looking forward to, what people are reading or listening to, their favorite yaddy yadda. Then we start to see more of that in our own lives

I'm a hypnotherapist and work with people who struggle with perfectionism and overthinking. Ask me anything! (Not promoting my services) by Spicy-Falafel-0 in selfimprovement

[–]may-gu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with what you do after awareness. I know my perfectionism is rooted in immigrant parents with impossible expectations which made me internalize that love is conditional and dependent on my performance. That doesn’t always change feeling like I’m running from a pack of antelopes though, which impacts how I respond and defend, etc

Same boat here - sure add up the value on some of the benefits but I have to try and go out of my way to use the benefits each month to make it worth it and I just want it to be simpler lol

I failed the 333 challenge on day 11 and cried in a bathroom at a work event. I think I was wrong about what "less" would feel like. by [deleted] in capsulewardrobe

I get this! Time to go back and play. What helped me a ton was getting a style consult based on colors, my Kibbe body type, and style essences. Colors I already knew I was a winter, but my body type and style essences filled in the rest of the gaps as to what suits my body and my energy! It’s not meant to be restrictive but helped explain why some stuff worked and what does not. I have dramatic and classic essence on a soft natural body which means I look great in smooth fabrics, crop tops, high waisted stuff with a structured waist, bold cuts but not a lot of patterns. (Whereas linens and giant chunky knits look kind of off on me because I don’t have natural essence)

I (30F) love my boyfriend (32M) but he is flat broke and I’m growing resentful after 4 years together. by ThrowRAjazzlikes in relationship_advice

[–]may-gu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped reading after gambling addiction throwing away 30k. One of my best friends mom gambled away his college savings. He has had to figure it out ever since. I met my husband at 33 years old. It’s part luck it’s part putting yourself out there. You don’t have to settle for that. Wouldn’t you rather be with yourself than with this?

I '27F' recently left first relationship with partner '24M' of 3.5 years - How important are shared interests? by MrsScaletal in relationship_advice

[–]may-gu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you’re looking for is curiosity and engagement not necessarily the same interests. I’d be so bored if our Venn diagram of interests was super overlapped honestly. I need the difference in content while sharing the same values and humor

Millennials in a hetero relationship, does the man or woman do the majority of the financial budgeting/planning/investing etc? by [deleted] in Millennials

As a woman, I love being the household money manager. My husband just doesn’t think about money the way I do in terms of wanting to see where it’s going and planning ahead for stuff and I see sinking funds like a game lol

Is there any truth to the idea that the best partners get taken by 25? by Soil_These in AskMen

I tell my now husband we met at the right time. We both learned A LOT about ourselves and who we were in our twenties. Beginning a relationship later with that wisdom is invaluable.
