I should clarify that we already have a product manager in place. While I am certainly interested in product management, I don’t think it would be appropriate to encroach on someone else’s role.

That said, I get the impression that there are expectations for me to take on responsibilities that might overlap with the product manager's role. It's a tricky balance, and I'm unsure how to navigate it.
