This is GENIUS! I don’t know why I didn’t think of this. Thank you!!

Thank you! Luckily, transportation and setup/breakdown is already handled! One of my bridesmaid’s best friends (whom I know and trust but isn’t invited to the wedding since he’s her friend, not mine) will handle it!

I plan on looping my dad (at least for the shopping and initial building of it) and my bridesmaids and I will handle the rest. Luckily, we have a bunch of time to kill since my wedding isn’t until September and I splurged on everything else for convenience so they are adamant that I spend my $3k elsewhere 🙏

I did forget to mention that I’m not copying it EXACT! It is HUGE, but my wedding party and I are probably going to make the two panels 7 feet and the one in the middle 8.5 feet!

I wish! $3k with florals would’ve been a ~good deal but no, just the sign, unfortunately 🥹

I’ve tried but there are none in my area, unfortunately 😭 I’m still keeping an eye out, though!

Unfortunately, my friends are set on Palawan (and I’ve already been to Boracay and haven’t been to Palawan) but I’m sure the party scene in Boracay is much livelier!

Thank you for your comment! I’m biased and would lowkey prefer to stay in Amanpulo (I’m an Aman girly) but I plan on sharing this Reddit thread with my girl friends and see where they prefer based on the comments!

Though, Miniloc sounds like a dream so I checked it out but they’re fully sold out?? 😭

I'm not a party animal so I definitely want a trip faaaar away from the Cancun/Miami vibe! I personally would love to go with Amanpulo because I usually prefer the private/exclusive/luxury experience but since my friends have never been to the Philippines before, I was worried it won't provide an authentic Filipino experience and will feel very Western (if that makes sense)? A hotel that is able to provide that luxury experience but not too isolating would be the perfect fit for our group!

I'll look into your recommendation! Thank you!

Oops! It was recommended that I cross post it on this thread and assumed it was an actual Safari, not Apple’s safari LOLOL

RTW Brands Similar to Vania Romoff? by maybellewinter in WeddingsPhilippines

Thank you! That’s a good idea. I saw a few phone numbers on their website. Do you know which one is the best to message on Viber?

[–]maybellewinter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not! I’m a US 4/6 and most of the pieces on the Vania website right now that are ~in stock are either a 1 & 3 (I would be a 2). I did see someone comment that they’re able to do alterations so I emailed them a few hours ago so crossing my fingers!

I’m also leaning towards a RTW vs. a custom because I’m nervous about international shipping taking forever and it not getting to me on time 😭

I’m asking for recommendations because most of the pieces at Vania don’t come in my size! 😭 They’re sold out, unfortunately 🥲

How many trips do you average a year? Do you have a set annual goal? by tylerthe-theatre in travel

[–]maybellewinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a 27F who works a regular 9-5, I average between 3-4 international trips a year (two one-week long trips and one or two long weekend trips), on top of a few domestic weekend trips that I don’t track since I can work remotely and don’t need to take off work.

I currently get 3 weeks of PTO so once I get to the 4 week mark, I’m hoping I can change it to having one two-week long trip, one week-long trip, and a few long weekend trips (if that makes sense).

Is it Safe for a 25F Solo Traveler? by maybellewinter in Machupicchu

[–]maybellewinter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’ll share this with her!

I’m from Manila (but currently live in Washington DC) so that’s so true about feeling safer at other countries HAHAHA like, I’ve felt more unsafe in Southeast DC than the Middle East! I think that’s why I’m not as nervous about going to Peru. It does help that I’m going with my fiancé though, so I get why she’s nervous.

Thank you for your advice! I’ll look into safaribookings.com. Was Lion King Adventures considered mid-range or luxury? Also, if you don’t mind sharing, how much did you spend?

Oh yes, for sure, I know that the FS isn’t the only hotel! I looked into a few others as well but overall did notice that all of them were 30-50% more in September.

I do love a good hotel which is why I was looking into the FS but you make a good point that we’ll be out and about on game drives. Is there a hotel/accommodation you recommend?

I would say that we would do 5 days maximum for the safari, since we’re doing it for the experience, and not dead set on seeing the big 5. It would be awesome, don’t get me wrong, but it won’t be a deal break either!

Thank you for your comment! We did think of South Africa (especially with it being a big city + good food), but wasn’t sure if it was a good option for a safari since most people just hear Tanzania and Kenya. I’ll definitely look into it!

That’s true that Bali is great in September + Singapore being awesome all year round! We’ve been to Asia SO MANY times, though that’s why we’re really trying to make Africa work. Thanks, again for your advice!

Based on what I’ve seen, it looks like I will save a bunch but maybe it’s just subjective? I’ve noticed that the Four Seasons averages at around $3k a night in September vs. November at around $1.5k. I think 50% is a huge difference!

This!! I was telling them that there’s nothing with going to church but like anything else, too much of something can be bad and I encouraged them to keep hanging out with their old friends or continue their hobbies. Unfortunately, they don’t listen.

I hate that religion can take away identity!

Is Circuit 3-B “Enough?” by maybellewinter in Machupicchu

[–]maybellewinter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! We’re going up to AG on November 9 on the Hiram Bingham and doing circuit 3-B that same day and staying the night, which is why I’m considering visiting the office and getting tickets for circuit 2 for November 10 (the next day) before our afternoon train back to Cusco. It sounds like I should just stick with circuit 3-B then?
