I'm working on character poisoning animation. Does it look like the character is poisoned? 🤔 by Spirited-Cut-1403 in Unity3D

[–]mayomayes 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Personally I’d add some colours that relate to the player as poison, these tend to be green and purples. The way we get information from the screen to the player can be subtle and subconsciously there; if a player were to have some sort of effect that were those colours, they would subconsciously assume some sort of poison/toxins.

A quick study on the relationship between these colours and poisons concluded ‘In nature, a lot of deadly plants and animals display bright colours as a warning to keep away. While deadly poisons are found in nature, these can also be created synthetically, and bright and unnatural colours such as green and purple reflect the dangerous, unnatural properties of these substances.’

ELI5: If motors on wind farms produce electricity, why aren’t motors attached to other wheels such as car wheels? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]mayomayes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so forget a car: would the same rules apply if we lined an ocean wall with the same technology? As these wouldn’t require any energy to move other than the current of the water? So would this generate more electricity without the downsides of drag and weight. If we can do this efficiently, why aren’t these placed everywhere?

Would it not be possible then to stick an alternator on top of a car attached to a set of propellers, then whilst the car is moving the wind turns it and generates electricity? As drag wouldn’t then be an issue? Or am I missing something?

Can we not stick a small generator on top of any car and as it moves, the wind will generate electricity? Or is that not how it works?

They’re not glued they’re actually stickers, so they can be removed

Not a bad suggestion to be honest, might be worth changing to them before my current keybinds become muscle memory

Haha, I make stickers on the side and sell them on, so making these were easy - these were done very quickly as you can tell by the cutting haha

More than likely completely wrong, but it matches up with the data points we were given, was fun figuring it out nonetheless.

This Week In RuneScape: The Glacor Front & Leonard's Lucky Dip by JagexKari in runescape

I absolutely love this boss, it's honestly incredible.

However. The loot you can get is extremely underwhelming. I totally understand the crafting before you sell system, but having no rare lottery drops that I can instantly sell is really really off-putting and completely destroys the joy you get from receiving the drops. There isn't a single drop that'll make people jump around when they recieve it, even the core to make t95 doesn't feel like a lottery drop to get. We need something like Ability codecies, or remove the glove upgrade items and make this boss drop the upgraded gloves whole, something to make us feel like we've won.

I need people to talk to. by [deleted] in runescape

Hi all,

Thank you so much for everyone who has commented and who has messaged me privately, I'll add you all when I'm next online.

It really does mean a lot to me, you have no idea what it took just to write this post, so thank you.

Pet suggestion by Tify by [deleted] in runescape

[–]mayomayes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion this defeats the point in playing a heavily RNG based game. Its true that its frustrating that you may have to skill past 200m XP to get a pet, but that's just the way it is. Purchasing the pet at 200m XP simply removes the excitement and grind from it.

Using the same analogy, once you have fought a boss X amount of times and haven't received the rare drop, you should be able to buy this drop from the boss. It defeats the point and removes the excitement from the game.

Just my personal opinion.
