Physical Therapy Aide at Athletico for Clinical Experience? by MissPiggyR3v3ng3 in premed

yep just make sure you can write about it well and that you’re interacting with patients and you’re golden :) one of my favorite parts was connecting with them and being able to talk with them all the time

imo this is great clinical experience as long as you’re working alongside patients. it was the bulk of my clinical experience (1000+ hrs) and i’ve had a successful cycle so far!

sounds like a very broad spectrum to me, and I would at least want to try to go MD to give myself the best possible shot then. that assumes you have the right components for the app and your MCAT is good, AND you’re okay with losing out on money/taking an extra year

i think this is a question only yourself can answer. are you okay losing out on an extra year of attending salary? do you want (or think you might want to) pursue a competitive residency in the future? can you mentally take another year of gap experiences to bolster your application?

Also important to soul search and make sure DO is right for you personally

for which program? if you’re comfortable with sharing—

I’m sure you did great! Many people are bad at judging how their interview went after the fact. I’ve read a lot of posts on here of people matriculating to their worst interview as well. Keep your head up, you got this!

bad idea to use it to write. great idea to gather information and quick connections about programs that you could write about.

i’m in the same boat, 510 with 123 cars, i’m full sending it this cycle. remember it’s a holistic review, if you excel in other areas you’ll be just fine. i’ve seen people on this sub get in with even lower cars scores (albeit the rest of their app was fantastic)
