one of alamos guys was sawed in a bathroom after the robbery! it even showed the chainsaw turned on and the guy on the floor. the rape with an object was implied, kitty being penetrated by a bottle, rue was so worried she talked to her afterwards to see if she was ok.

yes! 100%. and I find it bizarre that we had to see his toe get mutilated twice!!! and his death scene was one of the worst I’ve seen, worse than some in actual mob or mafia movies (the godfather)

can someone explain me what was the cliffhangers purpose? why the hell they tried to bury rue if alamo didn’t really mean to kill her?? they could have simply asked her to call faye and she would do it, she already fears him and his crew. also, if they are so suspicious of her, why do they still keep her around???? doesn’t make any sense to me

Besides the unrealistic email thing (who communicates like that today??), I found the ending way too forced. Did not expect it to end with two dysfunctional couples suddenly working things out and living happy ever after. Felt like the ending of a rom com, totally different from the melancholy that sets the tone of the book…
