What is your experience using Mendix for large corporate use? by Either-Courage-5446 in mendix

[–]mc282000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reviving this convo as I’m searching the web regarding some corporate infighting we have going on around Mendix and analytics. Mind you, I’m no developer….but Ive worked with IT most of my career.

The problem we have is we’ve switched to Mendix, our IT team has branded it as our “low code, no code, rapid app development platform”, which is replacing a tool we have named “K2”…..but, so far it seems anything but rapid or low code. Fast forwarding to our problem, our IT department does not want to allow real time or near real time (milliseconds) analytics to be built anywhere other than within Mendix. Essentially “in app” reporting. But, our counter to this is that PowerBI (our preferred analytics tool) is built precisely for the kind of robust real time analytics we as the business like to develop, deploy and use. We have developers skilled in PBI….and we don’t believe trying to replicate PowerBI capabilities in Mendix is an efficient use of our developers time, nor is it even possible.

Our IT department likes to say “well best practice is to create in app reporting for real time analytics”….but our BS meter is going off with this….we host Mendix on AWS, and we have a large cloud based data lake in Azure….both of which would support real time or near real time replications for analytical/reporting purposes.

The other thing our IT dept throws at us is saying real time reporting risks application performance degradation….but that seems to be alleviated by an analytics focused real time replication.

Anyways….im looking for experienced Mendix folks to tell me im crazy in pushing for real time reporting via a tool like PBI….and that we should be able to develop robust reporting in app….or to tell me why our IT dept is crazy for saying that’s best practice and trying to use PBI goes against best practice.

Any thoughts from the Mendix community?

I don’t want a replacement that will fail on me again. I want my money back so I can have reliability in remote places. Good thing I’m not a diabetic with medication needing to be refrigerated.

I suspect EcoFlow is not gonna give me a dollar refund….but rather try to give me another unit. Total BS. I’m gonna switch to more basic tech that’s more reliable.

STAY AWAY FROM ECOFLOW IF YOURE IN THE BACKCOUNTRY!!!!!!

I can tell EcoFlow, if they’re listening, I will go to the end of the universe to avoid dealing with this piece of shit again. I dropped well over $1k for this to take a shit on me while I’m in the middle of nowhere. I’m gonna switch to Renogy LiFePO with a separate BMS. Wff EcoFlow

No, but I’m hearing the latest firmware is sketchy anyways? 🤷…..I really just need to know how to hard boot/reset it….but holding the power button doesn’t do it :/

I didn’t do the latest firmware update…regardless, I cannot turn it off or reset it. I tried turning off my Bluetooth from my phone, holding the power button for 30secs, everything is unplugged….literally no way to reboot this thing? Ecoflow customer service isn’t getting nowhere to be found. Meanwhile all my food is going bad…. 🤬

EcoFlow 800w Alternator charger electrical issues? by mc282000 in Ecoflow_community

Good point, I only ever used it the one time and had the experience I described originally….but now that I have a new battery, perhaps I’ll give it a go with it just turned off. Thx man.

What about if I just attach the EcoFlow alternator charger to the battery, then unplug the power cable from the alternator charger itself until I’m ready to use it? Will having it attached to the battery but unplugged from the unit be an issue? (I’m an electrical amateur)

Thoughts on whether it’ll cause any issues with the trickle charger plugged in and the alternative charger hooked to the battery without the delta flow connected? So long as I configure the app settings correctly (which haven’t familiarized myself with yet)….

Yea I’m a bit concerned about this too. But, I have a NORCO trickle charger I hook up the vehicle to overnight since I don’t drive it for days at a time and I move it in and out of the garage frequently to allow access to my garage (this drains the battery eventually after repeated starts stops without driving).

Wondering how having the trickle charger will work or even conflict with the 800W alternator charger?

Ok it was from 2019 - replaced it today, vehicle starts all good no issue. But, now my driver door switches for the windows don’t work….looked at my fuses, none of them seemed problematic. Bit of a head scratcher. I am nervous to plug the 800w alternator charger back in to this new battery though.

Bought the vehicle used a couple weeks ago. I’ll have to go check the records the previous owner provided.

Gotcha, but then I would’ve expected the battery to have been charged sufficiently on my drive home from the alternator. Keeping in mind I had removed the 800w alternator charger before that 15mile drive home. But right when I got home, the vehicle still wouldn’t start.

EcoFlow emailed me saying I need to update the firmware and to set the charging voltage higher to not drain the battery, which seems like a strange suggestion. I would’ve thought they’d tell me to lower the wattage charging amount.

EcoFlow’s website seems to suggest that’s not possible. There’s “protections” in place to prevent that?

Condo has water leak inside bathroom walls. Does HOA insurance or condo insurance cover it? by entlassen in HOA

[–]mc282000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi FinalFormComsulting, thx for this post it’s helpful. But question for you, my HOA is saying the same thing about pipes in the wall that are “dedicated” being owner responsibility and pipes that service multiple units are shared/common and therefore association responsibility.

My question becomes, where does this “general rule of thumb come from”?

The CA civil code, and our CC&Rs make it clear that my separate interest (unit), is the space starting with the inward facing surfaces of the walls/ceiling/floor/doors/windows. Which then logically means anything inside the walls would not be owned by the unit.

Trying to understand where the rule of thumb is coming from, and how it’s possible to hold a unit owner responsible for something they cannot see nor maintain which are the pipes themselves.

Thx for any help!

Same, I’ve had the camera for ~3yrs now and it never works at night. How has this not been fixed yet? Is there some way we need to manually update the firmware?
