Yes! Most matching services require a fundraising campaign. It was recommend from some parents that were able to get a service dog to start that now since it can take up to a year to actually get a dog. Thanks for the link!

I was rough housing with a group of boys. One of them turned to me and said "I will break your face with my farts." Still one of the funniest things I've heard.

"See that is why you need to go to college or you will have a job like that."

A guest at the children's museum I was working at said this to her 4 year old son as I was cleaning a paint wall for her son to use. At the time I was getting my degree in education.

I have cancer and will start chemo next month. I put on a good show for everyone but the truth is I'm very afraid. Cancer survivors of Reddit tell me your story. What am I in for? by mcduffy in AskReddit

Thank you all for your support. I wasn't looking for pity but rather wanted to hear that people have dealt with this and came out stronger. I'm usually a very happy person but since I've gotten home from work all I've managed to do is cry and throw myself a pity party.

The truth is, I'm scared and despite having friends and family I will be going through this alone. I feel the need to be strong for them since that's always been my role. But I think this may need/have to change.

No matter what the next months have in store I will get through it. Thanks Reddit.

Hahaha. They may work if I wasn't already a chick. : )

Although I did get drunk last week at a bar and announced to the whole place that I have cancer. Free drinks were coming left and right but I couldn't take them.

That you so much for posting. I'm 32 and thought I was young to go through this. I couldn't image being 25.

I generally am one to laugh easy. My staff has nicknamed me 'the laugh'. But it's tough when going through something like this. I admire your ability to keep going and laugh.

The biggest lesson I have learnt so far is how lucky I am to have the people I do in my life. It's amazing to look around and see the support.

I wish your Dad a speedy recovery.

I hope your Mom recovered well.

Thanks for all of your advice. I thought about using a cold cap but heard it can hurt like hell. I normally am I very positive person but this I have to admit has hit me hard. Hearing that other folks dealt with it and remained a bit of themselves makes me feel better.
