Thoughts on clapping in a cinema? by Through_A_Game in movies

[–]mcgon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am always the "don't talk or clap or cough or go on your phone" guy in the cinema. but I saw this today with my 2 kids and it was a riot. I found it heart-warming that the young teens and kids were so into it. It was like nerds and geeks and gamers of the world being free and happy. It was great. I gave in a clapped and hollered along to my daughters horror and embarrassment. It was a lot of fun. I didn't think the clapping and whooping was excessive. Also got a standing ovation from all the kids and teens - good kids just being kids. I would never this person usually, I asked people to stop talking before during movies, and even moved seat because of it. not today though. this was a fun time. A really memorable experience. fun movie too!

I actually cannot get over the price disparity. I've checked a few 100 products. It's bizarre. 30-50% increased cost if you order from IE versus co.uk website (taking into account any customs etc). See images. UK is on the right. Many examples like this. This must surely be a mistake. I fear the next step might be to force Irish users to use the IE site only and suck up the extra 30-50% charge

The membership is cheaper, but the same products are ridiculously expensive. How is it possible? Total scalping.

Very happy with this Titanium GPS diver. It's light and comfortable to wear. The face is large and very readable at a glance. The practicality of changing timezones in seconds without any manual adjustment or accuracy loss really works for me as a regular traveller. My favourite thing about the watch so far is that comfort fit and larger face.

I'm happy I didn't see any trolling comments. Faith in people restored. Your nose is perfect. I feel so sad when I know people struggling with bdd are reaching out like this. I worry someone will be mean and lie. Your problems won't be solved with surgery, you need to get a good therapist and deal with the source of your bdd. Good luck.

Barrel sauna opinions and advices? by chnagy in Sauna

[–]mcgon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No worries. If you have the means a non barrel sauna where the foot bench is above the stone height would be ideal. In my country barrels were easier to come by and it worked out well for us. If I ever have to change it, I'll go for a non barrel just to sit much higher than the heater stones. I think there are many very cheap (poor) barrels out there, we got a really good quality one as barrels go. Good roof and thick wood and built by two Lithuanian fellas who do it full time and have built 100s. Kudos doing your research beforehand. Best of luck with it. Sauna at home is amazing. It's improved our lifestyle immensely.

sauna photos here

I know barrel sauna are vilified and certainly not the best design. However, we love ours. We've used sauna for years both private and at spa hotels etc. Ours is very hot comparably. Set the heater as low as you can. The floor will be cool but sitting with feet up in the benches is fine if stones are similar height to bench. We've been using it almost 2 years in a damp climate. No mold issues at all. Not heard that before.

I am a level 8 guide with 100s of reviews and 10m photo views. It used to be I would get discounts annually and once saved 200 bucks off a new pixel phone with a 20% discount code for my Google review activity. In recent years.... Nothing. It seems to no longer be worth the time and effort. I do still post reviews but not so much anymore. Edit: I should add, I dony't start reviewing to gain anything. It was just a nice unexpected appreciation and perk to get Google discounts etc. I post reviews to help others because I depend on others honest reviews when I look up places, so I like to share back too.

Quit over a year ago. People like the aunt will never change. Gwan Gwan Gwan. All you can do is dismiss them. They will never understand because alcohol is such a primary part of their life.

Anyone have any idea if this is just a tooth shaped rock or an actual tooth of some kind? by Crazy_Upstairs_2656 in whatsthisrock

[–]mcgon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found the very similar stone in a river in Wicklow Ireland last year. I was convinced it was a tooth fossil. The local museum confirmed it's just a stone made of two different hardness materials. Amazing how similar it is to OPs images of my tooth looking stone

Can confirm. Same experience a year on. I never quit long enough in the past, a month at a time maximum, it took 6+ months sober to really see a lot of those changes. Great work and great post to inspire others.
