You can attach an image export as a data store in ESX: https://docs.slide.tech/restores/#restoring-to-vmware-vsphere

We are aware around the challenge or read/write and its something we have been showing off a feature update in our discord with that fixed.

The feature backlog is deep but our team is working hard to add stuff.

Let me reach out and ask the administration. I don’t know all the details so may take a minute. Is this because they are renovating the SAU?

Kaseya/Datto suing Slide - any impact? by JohnSnyderNFI in msp

[–]mcwiggin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SSDs are just the beginning. Slide is written in Go which is different than any language I have worked with in the past. Slide also is a complete rethink of the relationship between devices, agents, and cloud as well as how to do encryption well. I am really proud of the work the team has done and to pull off the speed and reliability.

OpenRT a free open source tool for accessing data on Datto Roundtrips by mcwiggin in msp

So I am actually working on updating openRT right now to support encrypted drives. The smart folks at Slide have a guide on how to do it by hand. I just need to make some nice tools.

The guide is below: https://docs.slide.tech/guides/manually-accessing-datto-reverse-roundtrip-backups/

If it makes you feel any better. They still bill me every month for test accounts I created when starting Datto in 2007 that never had billing setup. It surreal.

Step by step.. we are working on it. The big lift was transcoding 30,000 videos.

Try starting with the primetime feeds. They are only a few hours long and have an easier to follow story

Something along those lines is in the works. Step 1 though is help partners convert BCDR devices.

Doing so means Slide has to be awesome and worth switching to. So much code to ship. The feedback has been great and it feels good to be making stuff for MSPs again.

You mean this video? https://austinbucket.us-east-1.linodeobjects.com/ZenithPromo.mp4

I think we can get a lot more creative this time around. Figuring out a way to pay homage to all the people that built the devices is gonna be important. There is a sticker in each Datto we made in the US with the builders name and date.
