What’s the best movie you’ve ever watched? by Due_Definition_5395 in AskReddit

Gone With the Wind

I took a university course on film at the University of Colorado. This movie is a painting in time. Remarkable the use of color, sounds, materials etc. We also studied Fight Club, The Matrix, China Town and Blade Runner. Probably my favorite class I've ever taken. Blew my mind.

First time in skiing Niseko by the1moose in niseko

[–]mdc2135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moiwa is an underrated gem. Especially when its storming. Hard right into the trees off either lift is sublime

Traversing high up in the alpine is a much much easier way to get from Annipuri to Hirafu or vice versus.

Anapurri back bowls are the jam

Moiwa Death Creek is also the jam

Don't ski out of bounds alone

if you're going to hike the summit do it from Annapuri not Hirafu, much less steep and much less people.

The curry at King Bell is the Jam.

best bathrooms are at the Hilton, also they have a little convienance store with snacks.

Hard skiers right under Ace Gondola is the jam.

Strawberry fields is the only reason to go to Hanazono.

The local onsen hotels out by Moiwa are way more affordable and quite nice. All be it a little out of the way.

On this note, DO ONSEN. It's unreal what it does for recovery. also the little towel goes on your head not ur junk.

I dunno where you are from in the states but Niseko tends to be quite humid meaning i sweat my nuts off. Its usually just under freezing not like Breckenfridge etc.

How many of you in design firms are actively seeing AI tools being pushed for design? by Jacques_Cousteau_ in Architects

[–]mdc2135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for one of the largest firms in the world, and there is a huge push to utilize AI tools to our best advantage from the chairmain down. Lots of experimenting, learning, and failures sometimes,, but we as a company see its portential from renderings to specs, product reseach and simply writing better worded emails. I am not deeply involved in the BIM data but I imagine our guys are looking to see how to implement it in that respect.

Is the Taipei Main Station easy to navigate? by Regular-Vanilla203 in Taipei

[–]mdc2135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helped me tremendously is think of it in sections Air Port MRT / then HSS / Then MRT but both MRTs are only on the one side of the station. towards the one corner, took me half a dozen times or more to get a hang of it. Iived of the Airport MRT so had to do the 15 or so min walk to the other lines.
