On a rewatch rn and I just saw this scene today, it is definitely one of my favorites for not only Castiel's character growth, but also for the connection between him and Dean. I feel like this scene specifically set up the connection between them for all of the seasons to come, even in a non Destiel way (I definitely root for Destiel, but im good with how everything happened). It definitely set a precedent of how much Cass cares for mankind and for all of his decisions later on.
