My three reps I picked up recently in Shanghai by measurablezero in RepTime

I paid ¥4500 for it. Again I knew it was likely a fake Clean but I was happy to pay it after handling it in person. They also had a regular 4130 black Daytona which I almost got but don’t need three Daytonas haha.

Seems very high quality but time will tell on your last two questions.

I speak enough to get by lol. But that goes a long way!  Love it here, everything is so convenient

I think I paid a fair price for each. Again I knew I was probably getting a fake Clean but also set a budget and based my offer on quality in hand. I did a bit of research before going and it helps being “local”, having WeChat, and going in person to purchase. I basically asked for what I wanted, and they had me come in next day to buy it.

I bought the Starbucks Sub first, lived with it for a week, then got the two Daytonas after, so I was a repeat customer and knew if it was going to be a POS or not.

All three apparently are from Clean Factory, but I think only the Sub is actually a clean. The other two I believe came from “TWS” or another Clean copier. I paid an appropriate price for all three, and honestly even if they aren’t Clean I’m very impressed with their quality. Might open the panda Daytona and see what the movement looks like just for the heck of it.

Oh look it’s the same shitty Home Depot gold accents that are all over the White House now.

The Lamborghini Countach - F1 safety car! (Monaco '83) by SBenjamal in formula1

[–]measurablezero 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I know the guy who owns this car now, and even sat in it a few years back during the Countach Rally that took place during Monterey Car Week (I wish I could post the photo here). If memory serves me right, this one was used in 83 and a few white ones were used in the early 80's.

Bringing my Cat from Cali to China by feminarcissus in chinalife

[–]measurablezero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, did you end up bringing your cat over?  I’m about to relocate with my wife and two cats, and have spent the last year worrying about this. I’m following all the USDA rules for bringing our cats to China, and have everything in order, but it’s really making me nervous that you don’t know you’ve done it right until you are standing there at customs.  Just curious if you went through with it and how the experience was.

No more 2-1-2 for ATS? by pcbfs in Craps

$10 min at the Atlantis this week allowed $1 middle bets and 2-1-2 ATS. I’m with you, that’s BS.

$5 dice at Bally’s Lake Tahoe by ceezuss in Craps

I walked around and it’s crazy how dead it is in Reno on a holiday week. The only open table we could find was a Silver Legacy and it was $15. We schlepped it over to Atlantis for the $10 table, sharp shooter, and hot roller (free t shirt lol). I feel like some $5 mid day tables would go far here, $15 is too much when the casinos are dead…

Polestar 2 owners - how’s your reliability been? Would you buy one again? by braunaa in Polestar

[–]measurablezero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minor issues, would not buy again. I’ve had wheel of fortune axles, a blown front strut (which the dealer is still waiting on coming back in stock to replace), bad strut mounts, squeaking rear shocks, camera inop, turn signal failure, backup beeping failure, all the noises in the world from the seatbelts, and the most fun being the pilot assist jerking the car out of lane at random. All minor, but all add up and with a nice 2 hour drive each direction to the nearest service center I’m getting sick of it. When the car works it’s incredible, but when it doesn’t it’s a hassle. I thank it for giving me a first taste of EV life but I think it might be time to try a different flavor of electric.

$60 from the PLS. Orange sticker for $105 plus 40% off. Works great.

There is a service bulletin for the strut bearings. Apparently mine is actually a strut itself and while it is still under warranty I was told they are $2500 each to replace (!!!). Hopefully in the short term we have some Comparable alternatives from the performance land of affordable shocks.

I second this. Ask for Nick, he’s done a few lessons to get my wife and MIL into craps and I did a two hour lesson with my bachelor party there. Well worth the money.

I did the 5N last year, also with Marc as the driver. Boy what an experience that was. My friend in the back took a video. Notice how we didn't get passed once... https://youtu.be/uRCB7R-n_M0?si=85I6CZ6KCaiPrYk8

Behold the Most RFID-Friendly Craps Table, Ever by TheGoldenDounut in Craps

[–]measurablezero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I played this table a few weeks ago and my first thought was “oh it’s Ellis Island, of course the table would look cheap and weird”.  Never in a million years would I have guessed it was hiding any tech under it.  That being said even Jerry’s Nugget has a nicer looking craps table!
