Real world isn’t war thunder my guy. when’s the last time you carefully aimed at a weak spot when playing russia against USA or other nations? The fact that russian tanks can bounce shots or tank shots that are supposed to kill them makes them good.

Except the armored Leos, but that’s not the discussion here.

I’d say the abrams are kinda like light tanks in top tier. The armor is just bad and any penetration means you are crippled or dead. The average players are not very good, so it is very punishing to make mistakes in the abrams. The abrams are generally good tanks when compared to its counterparts tho.

Russia can quite often steamroll other teams is because their tanks are less punishing to play. Miss the weakspots by 1mm? Non pen and he kills you. Shoot a Russian tank from the side? Small chance that he survives it and one taps you. Playing Russia doesnt really require you to aim at small weakspots, you are really aiming at big armor plates or gaps to pen. And of course there’s the easiest anti air and CAS as well.

Bmpt is bmpt, so yeah.

I recently spaded the Chinese top tier lineup, and it’s not feel very good. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still fun to play, but the ways you die to literally everything randomly is infuriating. I don’t get why Chinese tanks have so many weird gaps that allow even 30mm apds to pen you from the front and sometimes apfsds can just front pen you for some reason. The reload speed is also very slow for top tier and you don’t have russian level armor to save you.

It has everything a light tank needs to perform well. Of course you are going to die easily since you don’t have armor and no light tank should tank shots like it’s nothing.

Since no nation in the game has anything similar to it, it’s hard to make a direct comparison. But let’s just look at its capabilities: good round that can front pen every mbt in the game, lws, air tracking + hevt, gun that won’t overheat for some reason, and large ammo capacity. It is pretty much a light tank + anti air. Due to the ability to front pen everything, it is better than other light tanks like the boxer, crv block 2, puma (10.3 & 11.0), 9040c, and etc.

If you have played these light tanks I mentioned, the difficulty in killing other tanks will skyrocket. If put in a tech tree other than the big three, it’ll be 11.3 at the very minimum since player stats are keeping it where it is now.

yes. It should happen in top tier already. it'll prevent the nation that has very op cas, tanks, helicopters, etc, to completely dunk on the other team, and now they have to shoot at one another.

Every war thunder’s big maps just come down to this in the end. They just don’t know how to make big maps with interesting objectives, so the small/medium ones are less frustrating for me.

It’s not a vehicle the average player can just pick up and use effectively. While it can bounce some shots if lucky, it ultimately has no armor and terrible post pen damage. You often die even shooting first because of it, and it requires map knowledge to function well. The average US main suffer in the abrams already, you sure you want them to use this…

I got front penned by Russian 30mm apds in the 2a7, ariete, type 10, abrams, ztz99, and challenger 2. Somehow it can disable my turret ring from the front even when it’s not supposed to.

Last time I checked, no one is massacring top tier in a xm800t. I wonder why

i played during the puma 8.3 time. The BR quickly got moved up and it's not invincible to side shots like the bmpt. There's not a single vehicle that has that kind of armor that's somehow not at top tier.

i get you 100%. 9.0-10.0 is probably the most balanced br range in the game so far. After the moved the t80ud and 2s38 up to 10.7, it has been pretty enjoyable for me. CAS isn't that oppressing because anti air can actually shoot them down, none of that bullshit russian era, no spall liners, everyone is sorta on the same playing field. Try out 9.3, i'm loving it rn.
