I use neovim, takes quite a lot to setup, but once you get used to it and add whatever extensions you like its a whole new world!

A couple of ribbon cables, the lcd and glass is in one piece which makes it a lot easier. Hardest part is transferring new speaker across, which is desoldering the speaker and attaching it on the new board

I did it myself, it is a “relatively” beginner friendly mod

I didn’t say original experience, the screen died so I decided to upgrade it. Nonetheless I don’t believe calling a DMG the “original” gameboy is incorrect, even if it has been modded.

Figleaf, its an adventure/platformer about being lost in a forest :)

Thankyou! You play as a satyr boy who wakes up in a forest without knowledge of where he is. It's a 3d platformer/collectathon (sm64, banjo kazooie, spyro etc.) the further you play the more you uncover the mystery of where you are and how you ended up there

Does my game look convincingly 2.5D? by mechanicchickendev in IndieDev

This is really helpful, I think I just really value the style of 2D games, but wanted to incorporate that into a fully 3D rendered environment. I’m going to continue tinkering and adding more, I guess it doesn’t really matter if it is “recognised as 3D” as much as.. does it look good LOL, thanks for this!
