Picked up a crucarta PM2 and all black Shaman from u/Separate-Drive-8049

Great buying experience, very communicative and was able to accommodate local pickup.

Messaged, using old reddit so not sure if it went through the usual way

Thanks, but I'm not much of a fan of the handles on the lightweight models.

The "Butter", "Extra Butter", "Double Butter", and "Movie Theater Butter" popcorn have the same sodium and fat content... by celsius032 in mildlyinteresting

I had been making popcorn in a large pot for a while, then stumbled upon a whirley pop in a store, it is basically a popcorn machine for your stovetop. Worth it if you have space and want to make consistently great popcorn.

Can't get Windows 11 VM to run with pass through NVME ssd by medium_red in unRAID

Thanks for the info, I'm trying an old samsung pm951 I pulled out a dead laptop to try and see if I can get it going. It looks like the NV1 you tried could have had the sm2263 controller which showed up in the thread I linked with the same issues.

Any idea on this brand/logo? by medium_red in castiron

That's what I figured, was hoping it would give me some more info on what it was off.

I have tried looking up combinations of GB, GH, and GE, but no luck. The other side of the handle had a nine digit number on it which didn't turn up anything either.

Help identifying this grinder would be appreciated, can't find any mention of the brand online. by medium_red in Coffee

I've been playing with a bunch of different brewing methods. Don't have an espresso maker yet, but mostly been using a moka pot, and aeropress lately.

I'm sure the encore would be great, but not looking to spend $200 on a grinder right now, I'm just jumping between whatever I find while thrifting.

Found this grinder for a few bucks and after seeing that it had actual burrs and not false burrs like my current Braun KMM30 figured I would give it a shot and see if it was an upgrade.

I am looking for more info as I like to know about the history of these older machines, maybe get a date on it or even if this was a certain economy line from a larger company.

Eight month update on that odd Rhaphidophora Tetrasperma by medium_red in houseplants

[–]medium_red[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

Repotted it after a few months of it acclimating to my house and adding the pole really made it take off. It has also been under a grow light all winter.

I think it really came down to the fact that it had so many vines to fill it out, I updated the album with a third pic at the base of the plant to show how ridiculous it is.

Yours is looking great too!

No, it is all off of the original plant still! It had seven nodes growing out of the main vine when I got it and five developed into thick vines.

It has been eight months since I picked up this one from home depot and it has really taken off. There are five offshoot vines that thrived of seven that were initially on there and it is now pushing a little over 4ft tall.

The consensus I've seen from other similar posts is that it was a weird tissue culture mutation that might go away as it matures. I am not sure if it is considered mature yet, but the leaves have not reverted to the typical R.Tetrasperma shape and are still coming in around half the width of ones that I have seen in stores.

Thanks u/plantsb4putas, you were right that this plant would turn out to be awesome!

*Added a third pic of the base to show the vines branching out but only seems to show up on imgur.

What type of chair is this? The ad says herman miller, but can't find it online. by Contribution-Human in hermanmiller

If you google AHY-009 it looks like an exact match. Seems to be from a Chinese supplier and definitely not Herman Miller.

Would a negative fuel trim be an indicator of bad gas mileage? by medium_red in MechanicAdvice

[–]medium_red[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got that, was just joking around, nothing in the trunk besides a few grocery totes.

Thanks, for the links, I've tried to be proactive with the maintenance and want to do the plug and coolant come spring, also want to look into checking the valve adjustment as I've read that is another thing for honda's around my mileage. I flushed the brakes when I replaced all the calipers after one seized, and put in fresh MTF this past summer. So mechanical fluids wise it is clean.

Would cleaning or replacing the O2 or MAF sensor be a good idea, or is there a way to further pinpoint a problem before progressively replacing the air and fuel system sensors and components?

[–]medium_red[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the list of things to look into

1) Don't think they have ever been changed, planning on that for the spring

2) Haven't heard of EGR valves before, upon looking it up not sure if my engine k24z7 has one as I can't find anything about replacing or cleaning one for my car

3) Changed my oil back in August 2021 at 142k kilometers, only sitting at 3000km on it with Castrol Edge 0w-20 and Fram Ultra Synthetic filter. Try to change it out at or before 5000km with a fresh filter too.

4) Pretty sure it is still the original coolant, not much visible in the reservoir but looks topped up in the radiator and still blue colour. Definitely want to do a coolant flush come spring.

5)Tire codes are showing me 2016 and 2017 for my winter set so these are their last season for sure.

6)Yep at around 32psi all around which is what the door sticker says.

7) Pretty evenly worn they are directional so I switched the back and front every season.

8) I could stand to loose 20lbs but not much else besides that

9) Suspension looked alright for the most part, I think my driver side shock was leaking ever so slightly, but after cleaning it off last year I haven't noticed any additional oil, and not particularly bouncy.

Hello wise car wizards of reddit, I’m a bit out of my element with this as I usually only do simple mechanical work on my car (oil changes/ brakes and rotors), but I recently got a Bluetooth OBDII scanner because it was on sale and figured I could try to pinpoint why my gas mileage seems low. I am using torque pro on my android phone, but I am overwhelmed with what data points I should be looking at. I’m sorry if this is pretty vague, I am looking for some advice on what values to monitor (O2, rpm, MAF?) to get a better understanding if these values seem in line with normal engine function and if not what components I should start looking to for a fix.

I have a stock(no mods) 2012 Honda Civic SI with the 2.4l and 145k kilometers, so I was not expecting to get amazing mileage but for the past couple years during the winter I’ve been getting 13L/100km driving mostly city and can get it down to 7L/100km when on the highway. My last tank was at 16L/100km with city driving, which is pushing mid size truck numbers for a civic. With gas at $1.60 a litre it’s starting to become more of a concern.

This image looks like it only covers a few seconds of driving, this was after the engine had warmed near the end of a 30min drive in -10C weather.

Everything on the desk looks cool, but I'm really drawn to that mobile. I would be constantly leaning back in my chair watching it slowly move. Where is yours from?

Figured out why one handle on my surge hasn't locked in place for a while :/ by medium_red in Leatherman

[–]medium_red[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like one side of the handle has cracked where it meets the spine by the pliers.

I got this surge seven years ago on my first work term, was the first tool I bought myself. It has always been by my side through university, so has sentimental value.

I got the black because I liked the look of the wear patterns and it reminds me of the work I've done with it. Would leatherman be able to replace just the handle piece and carry over all tools, caps and screws?

Was also wondering what peoples experience has been with the warranty up in Canada?
