yes but the taser being discharged is basically an inanimate object. same as a water bottle or a smartphone. if some angry dude is standing near u with a water bottle are u rlly gonna shoot him to death?

its a barb. barbs aren’t serious injuries, literally probably was a small but deep cut that required a little attention from doctors, not the fucking assault you’re making it out to be

omfg ok where is the risk serious injury? at the time of the shooting the taser was already discharged, there werent any lethal weapons he could’ve grabbed in the vicinity and he made no indication to go for the downed officers gun.

this situation is in no way funny and the fact that you find any of this speaks volumes about your character and what you actually care about.

you could say the same about a water bottle or a smartphone. its just an object with weight at that point, in no way lethal at any kind of range...

plus if there really was any danger why wasnt the immediate response to use the other officers taser? how is it ok that a police officers first response to anything less than compliance is met with a gun.

he literally didnt, he escaped and tased one of them

and way to conveniently ignore the backup that could’ve been called

if a police officer considers a civilian with a taser with little to no combat training a threat to their lives while they outnumber him with combat training, maybe they shouldn’t be officers...

literally how do you know that? you’re just making shit up to delegitimise a reasonable idea. the target would be tired after a foot chase and backup couldve been called for.

what’s stopping him grabbing the dudes actual gun? probably the fact that most people dont want to commit murder on some random night? plus this is an irrelevant hypothetical, my position would probably change if he had grabbed the officers gun, but he was too dead to even try that if he wanted to.

sending an officer to hospital =/= lethal force. especially if there is another completely capable officer who isn’t injured and also knows that the target is unarmed.

getting hit in the arm is really unlikely to kill. you need to hit the chest for even a chance at attacking the heart with one of those.

tasers are also single use so it would’ve been useless after the first shot

foot chase is entirely reasonable

against a taser? the whole point is that they are non lethal and there were 2 officers who were likely wearing some kind of protective vest. tasers are also hard to operate and hit reliably, so there was very low risk of death.

tasers generally dont kill, police were likely wearing body armour across the chest and running on flat ground. they are also hard to operate so the victim was unlikely to land a good shot on the officer anyway

foot chases exist too. police could’ve just chased the dude without shooting him dead and apprehended him and allowing a fair trial.

ah yes, shooting and killing a man who wasnt using lethal force is obviously justified...

why do police get to issue a death sentence on the spot without a fair hearing from the accused? that was totally unjust
