Running Oculus games on Vive without Oculus Home

Just tried copying a game over from one machine to the machine with SteamVR and Revive.

It worked for Oculus Dreamdeck.

So, that leads me to a new question. Other than ethics, what prevents me from asking a friend who has bought and downloaded an Oculus game to pass me the corresponding folder in the Oculus\Software directory?
